Not that I think this is a good idea (bad trophy, lousy name, rival who we share neither history nor geography), at least he decided to target the school that has been at the top of this conference in football for every season it has existed.
 
Civil War is Oregon/Oregon St.
Civil Conflict is kind of a rip off and downright lazy.

I have to say that I suggested that very thing at the end of last year and was blasted but the more I watch this guy the more I see a Shiano clone. A guy who rides mediocre results to a bigger gig. Where he is, surprise, mediocre.
 
mother of god. Where is rock bottom for our athletic department?! Everyday they do something dumber than the day before. This .....this is just so awful it's hysterical.

Diaco has a long way to go to be Schiano Jr. A bowl game would be a start. There is a lot of the same talk. One of Schiano's lines "someday our best, will be enough to beat their best" sounds an awful lot like something Diaco would say.
 
I wonder what the Perfect Hair guy has to say about this. This is the typical time for him to pop up.
 
Bob Diaco is a crazy. His fall will be fast and ugly if he doesn't win a lot of games.

This is totally embarrassing. Fortunately, no one knows or cares. Just delete the thread and we can pretend it never happened.
 
Diaco managing damage control might actually be fun to watch.

This is so bad that we just might have to pretend Diaco is trolling CFB no matter what.
 
I love the idea that we are going to make up a rivalry with one of the best teams in the conference, not tell them about it until WE make the trophy, and then put our logo higher than theirs.

Corny? Yes.
Pointless? Yes.
Rubbing salt in the wound that we gave to them last year? ABSOLUTELY!

The fact that UConn knows nothing about it makes it even worse.

The school needs to put out a statement - Diaco's embarrassed the school and they need to stamp out the fire a bit.
