Obviously, you really know nothing about football. We had more chance of injury last Saturday in the heat and on Astroturf than any game we have played in years. I played and practiced on Astroturf for one season and was never comfortable on it. I am sure the field was an advantage for Fresno. There is a very good possibility the Clemson game will be closer than Fresno. It would nice if some fans on here would actually support the program and especially the dedication of the kids that show up for workouts and practice pretty much year round.
My comments have nothing to do with the players or even the last game l. If you’d like me to edit it fine I will. He is 6-29 since 2017. With 3 wins against fcs teams one against umass and two I think Tulane and Tulsa. I’m saying taking Ls suck but let’s try and get some respectable Ls. It’s all due to coaching

Here’s hard facts:
6-31 under RE2 with 3 FBS wins.
11-26 Diaco.
13-24 PP.
For the decade: 30-81 (27%)
Last wining season: 2010.

This has nothing to do with a top 25 pubic university in a nice state, with a fine campus and great facilities. It has to do with the incompetence of humans.
PP 10-18
Weist 3-5 with 3 game win streak He should have been the
hire!

That’s correct, you have no idea.
Disagree.
If you haven't paid any attention, UConn has one of, if not the best recruiting class it's seen coming in next year. We have a competitive advantage over BC, UMass, Syracuse and Temple. No one really cares about Syracuse football anymore even in the ACC, BC is mostly irrelevant in any sport outside of hockey, it's UMass (do I really need to elaborate further?) and we have a national TV deal and not forced behind a paywall like Temple. Rutgers is probably the only local regional that can beat us out on recruits because of playing in the B1G.
I would like this 10000 times if I could.

We are recruiting well for what we are as a program. And beating out P5 schools for recruits in our area. How someone can say we don't have a competitive advantage is beyond me.

100% Self inflicted 3 awful hires..
No doubt that it has been self inflicted, but to blame it on humans is a broad stroke. To be honest, I had nothing to do with it...did you? I think that it can be, and should be, narrowed down to the Athletic Department...current and former.

As much as Pasqualoni knows football and still could recruit, he shouldn't have been hired in the first place. He's a good coach in the NFL, but the college game passed him by. Hathaway was the reason Edsall left in the first place and is the reason football came crashing down. Diaco was a bad hire, but he had a good resume so I can't blame Warde too much on that one. Edsall isn't a bad hire, per say, but his tear down the program to rebuild just isn't what fans want to see. They want to see wins now after a decade of bad football.

Randy is soon becoming nearly half the decade plus of bad football, unless he changes his proven bad formula.

Yeah, we gotta stop acting like Randy just got here. He's been here long enough 2nd time around for this program to show signs of life. 1 game doesn't make a season, but he cannot continue to have this team be a national laughingstock and be smug with his answers afterwards. Show some respect toward the few of us that still support the program with $, and time.

I'm willing to bet last week (outside of Clemson) is going to be more of an outlier due to the extreme temps, long travel, being off for 2 year.

For those advocating for HCRE's immediate dismissal, ponder this: CHAOS!

1. The players have bought into his program. Firing him NOW will leave the team rudderless & on;y accentuate the death spiral.
2. About the "stellar" incoming recruiting class: National Letter of Intent Signing Day isn't until mid-November. Showing HCRE the door gives those players 2 months to reassess their decision & look elsewhere.
3. Who would you elevate from the staff for a lame duck season? Anyone chosen will be brushing up his resume & constantly checking the coaching want ads. Does the UConn football program really need this distraction at this juncture?

Let's see how this season plays out before making a rash decision. If there isn't any noticeable improvement toward respectability, then pull the plug.

Then the conversation can continue on possible replacements, whether they are offensive or defensive specialists.

Warde was no rock star as Herbst called him when he was hired! Disco was a bad hire and his staff was worse than him. As for Randy tomorrow is a big day! He needs to have this team ready to go. Solid defensive and offensive performance and a win!

I'd say pasqualoni would have been ok if he didn't bring his moron friend who can wall paper 5 offensive plays in his house as oc. PP was a dud as soon as he brought along his pal.

Nah, P could have done something when GDL was destroying the offensive line. He was just going through the motions just like his friend. I think he's worse than Diaco, at least Diaco was trying he was just incompetent.

Fair point

He gets the whole year IMO. But enough excuses by him and for him. We need to see signs of life when the games are played.

he will get the whole year unless something really weird happens. he probably gets next year too as long as he can win three games.

It got worse. It always does.
It hasn't really gotten worse. We're still just as bad just instead of being historically bad on defense we're historically bad on offense.

Randy is here through the end of the season. Who on staff would be able to step in? As far as the future, is it really that hard to find a coach who can get us to 500 ?????
camon !

IMO it has gotten worse. Randy came here trashed the kids that were here as not good enough. Then it was he was forced to play kids before they were ready because the other kids were so bad. Then the entire team gets redshirted and after the 1st game the excuses were they hadn't played a real game in almost 2 years. Now they get dismantled by an FCS team at home following whole team redshirt year.

There are no more excuses this coach can make. None. Yet I'm sure he will try.

Ok sure. Losing at home to an FCS team by double digits isn't worse. Whatever you say man.

I knew RE would do this. Last year he was like “we will get bigger, stronger and faster”. Now as we get taken apart by Holy Crap he will say “we aren’t used to game speed.” He had the excuses ready a long time ago. The only game we have chance to compete in is vs UMass. They have been worse than us over the last five years as hard as that is to believe. They played Pitt today and were 38 point underdogs - they didn’t cover, losing 51-7. This will be a 0 or 1 win season. Basketball starts in two months. Football season is already toast

And Michigan who was ranked #5 in the country lost to an FCS team. They didn't say that was rock bottom for them. We've already hit rock bottom 3 years ago. The talent is there, Guifre is just wasting it. Guifre needs to go now, edsall gets to the end of the year. He ain't getting fired before November. Guifre is a different story.

Maybe Guifre gets fired to save Randy, but let’s not delude ourselves. Randy put an OL coach in charge of the offense in 2021, so Randy could ccontrol the offense. It is what it is, he owns it not Guifre.

Setting aside your nonsensical point about Michigan, you want us to believe we are better off today than 3 years ago? Nah, sorry, not buying it.

And who was it that put the OL coach into an OC position, then chose the inferior quarterback out of ego, and then delegated playcalling to the QB coach? That is the head that needs to fall first.
