Bob Diaco is clearly in over his head. Warde made a bad hire. Offense looks o much different when Boyle is in. Time to end the Whitmer experiment

I agree.... Boyle May take hits but he steps into the pocket. Don't play with his head by putting him in for random drives then pulling him after one mistake while giving a HUGE leash to Whitmer. I think it's either stubbornness or favorites.... Boyle is not being given a fair chance..... Or an opportunity to learn at game speed... He's just not.

What good decision(s) has Manuel made? Guy is a complete disaster. If this was a corporate job he'd be canned in a big way, even if we have to give him an expensive package.

Different? The little time he was in there he looked rushed, just like Whitmer. BTW- Did you see Boyle's stat line today, 1-4 for 7 yards and an int. I don't think we have a QB until we have an O-line.

Kevin and Joe D said: "whatever the Boyle situation really is....." They clearly don't know what the hell is going on with him, but they did know we've been running Fox in the wildcat at practice. That was the first I heard of that, did anyone else know about the Fox experiment because I didn't.

Last game someone mentioned he was getting reps at QB. Could have even been after we found out Cochran was out. But I had heard about this somewhere on here.

Did you see Whitmer personally account for over 20 points of spread to the opponents. It's unlikely Boyle could do worse.

Thanks, missed it.

I realize a lot of you here are Boyle fans, but frankly, he hasn't shown me anything to make me think he'll lead us to the promised land. I'm betting Sherriffs or a juco transfer is the starting QB next year.

Why?! He's the guy next year. Most experienced QB on the roster in 2015.

I believe he would be starting now if Diaco thought he was any good.

I think you are right.

How can you say this when he hasn't played more than 3 possessions in one game? If you're basing it off last year it's wrong to do as many young QBs struggle frosh year adjusting to new speed of game. Not to mention the opponents he faced were tougher than the ones CC or CW faced (minus Michigan).

He's gotta be given at least a full game before you can go off saying something like that.

Sorry. Whitmer has has more than a fair shot. He just can't control his happy feet. The play book on defending him is obviously to blitz him so he runs. I personally have been willing to give Diaco a bye on this year since he has not recruited these guys, but he is losing me with his cute answers. Whitmer is not the QB of the future. Boyle at least steps up in the pocket, weak line or not. Let's give him a fair shot.
Aside from the QB issue, this team is making far too many mental errors. Offsides on a kickoff. Two motion calls on consecutive plays. Etc. That has to do with coaching.

No. Jim Calhoun trapped Ward into hiring Ollie.

That's correct, and it was more like he had Ollie shoved down his throat. Left to his own devices in that hiring situation, Manuel probably hires some big national name coach.

He took way too long to pull the trigger on firing Pasqualoni, and now we've got the second coming of Gerry Faust.

Reading Boyle's body language (far opposite end of the sidelines from LOS, arms folded, helmet perched on top of his head) when Foxx was in at qb for the last possession...he looked like he will be gone via transfer by the end of the bye week. Reality is Diaco needs to stop jerking him off and play him if he wants to "build for the future".

I couldn't blame him either. For some reason he isn't getting the opportunity the other is.

No more Whitmer. No more Boyle. No more conventional QB. We don't have an OL to block for a conventional offense so it's time to shift to a non-conventional offense. Wildcat Foxx and play read-option on every single play. Put WRs in motion to add more option wrinkles. Throw the ball maybe 2 or 3 times per game with Foxx or a halfback. Then take cover and hope that 2015 comes soon enough.

Totally agree with this. JC came through yet again big time for Uconn.

I am going to keep going to the football games but it is REALLY REALLY tough to watch in person. The offense is just so helpless. Same pattern every game. One turnover at the start leads to an opponent score and Uconn is in a hole right off the bat. When I think about next year - can it get better with tons of freshmen playing? This isnt going to change overnight.

If Boyle transfers because of all this crap, I'll have little to no faith in Diaco moving forward. Honestly....you lose your future QB, or at least the possibility he could be your future QB because you stick with someone who is not the future of this program because he's done after this year? Diaco has the whole rest of the season to find out if Boyle is the man or not. Practice isn't game situations so I don't care what is shown at practice. Let Boyle take his lumps and know he's the starter the rest of the way going forward. See what he can do without worrying about being pulled. I know he hasn't said anything about transferring but we've had such terrible luck at the QB position that it would only be fitting for it to happen.

You can't send Chandler out there again as the starter. If Diaco wants to play head games with Boyle and put Foxx out there then he should transfer, who wouldn't. Build for the future starts against Tulane. It's time to see what Boyle can do with the rest of the year.
