Didn't we say that same thing about JC like 5 years ago when we hired Ollie and yet he's still in the game. He's immortal I think.
AND a miracle shot by Jalen to get them into the tournament.
You would think this fan base had never experienced winning or greatness. How disciples of Calhoun could be so complacent and cool with a soft, ill-prepared team is beyond me. We know what winning takes, and it’s clear that Ollie and co. are not up to the taskI'm curious, what would a coach at UConn have to do to get fired? Say Ollie stays and the team is under .500 again next season. Is that the appropriate time?
I guess you can argue whether Ollie deserves to be fired or not but what's undeniable is that Ollie has done a poor job assembling a team, coaching it and running the program. It's as clear as the nose on your face. Does he have the ability to change? I thought that was the discussion Benedict and he had after last season.
What else would he say?
So I'm hallucinating when I recall lots if posts about his personal life, his divorce, his sex life - must have been readimg a different forum about a different coach my badIt's a message board. As far as I can remember, 99% of the "fire KO" crowd have focused mostly on the basketball related reasons - and there are many at this point - that he should be let go, and haven't gotten nasty at all.
Because of the reasons willie said. And I think he can coach a team that he puts together much better than he has the last 2 years and I would like to see him do it. I don’t see any college basketball programs firing coaches and becoming great for years. I don’t know that there is a replacement coach that I wish we had right now. Just my opinion.Genuine question, why don't you think he should be fired?
Nice try.
Tulsa got in as an at-large. So would we.

More importantly, Jalen said he's coming back regardless of if KO is back or not, although he did give a nod of appreciation to KO
Whatever. That wasn't my point. I'm not even sure what you think I was trying to do in your fevered imagination.Nice try.

We happened to lose our McDonald's All American and probably our best PG. That's a might big injury for a team that started the season short handed
Terry Larrier was recovering from a torn ACL, not an easy thing to do. Then, when he was playing a little better and the team looked like they were jelling in January and won three straight, he fractures his nasal cavity and he sucks the rest of the year
Actually having to explain this to UConn fans is pathetic, and it's no surprise what people like your post either. The only teams they ever make excuses for are our opponents, because it advances their hatred of Ollie narrative. That's all that matters to some, the nuances of the truth be damned
That is true.
But everyone, including you, saw that Cincy game as a must-win. The fact is, we were a Jalen Adams miracle shot away from losing a game that everyone thought we absolutely needed to have.
