Yeah, the Daily Campus beat writer for the men's basketball team probably doesn't have any legitimate connections within the program.

I like you Tcf, but I graduated in 05" as a UConn athlete with close friends at the DC. Lets just say they knew less than people on this board as far as inside information goes.. maybe that has changed but I really doubt it

Maybe it was wrong to imply that he had a connection because he worked for the Daily Campus. But regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if he did have a connect within the program.

Don't know the kid at all. I didn't even know he was the UConn beat writer for the DC.

However, if he is the beat writer instead of writing a rumor and asking for intel he should have dug up his own intel before posting.

Wow man, did he steal your prom date?

Nope, I do appreciate the sentiment coming from people who either have probably never met him or don't really know him telling someone who spent multiple years in close orbit to said person that their opinions on the dude they've never met are somehow more credible than mine.

Linking this with Gibbs is nonsense - as they say in Hollywood this has been in the can for some time.

For all we know he very well could. I'm just offering insight into the source. Personally, I would take any and everything he says with a pinch of salt. If you choose to weigh his opinion more heavily than I do, that's fine.

I screamed for mercy halfway through that sentence. "Sentence."

I know Tim pretty well and we've met several times, generally as media for UConn games. You, on the other hand, are a nasty, obnoxious loudmouth on the Internet. So yes, I'm going to go with my own opinion on him.

Yeah, I was siting the exceptions. The trend bothers me. But you can't blame the kids. They get one shot and they all think they can be in the NBA.

This. I don't blame them. You have to do whatever you can to make it to the next level. Especially when a guaranteed paycheck is involved. And he has a title.

By all means, go right ahead. I mean, you DID meet him a couple of times, that clearly makes you the foremost authority on his legitimacy.

Please . You've been touting left and right that you had inside info this was happening . Complete utter bs.

On a serious note - Brimah and Facey will be most impacted by TSam leaving. They were close friends and bonded last summer in Storrs.

It's a matter of class, not credibility.

Lol. I've known Tim for a number of years now and it's clear that he must have hooked up with PcketknfNiels's ex girlfriend in high school. Move on bro, she was too hot for you anyways.

She wasn't that hot. Rumor has it, she was trying to get with Dom Amore at the AAC tournament. Just sayin. We may have a horde groupie on our hands.

Wishing TSAM the best of luck. Great glue guy, good defender and will definitely be missed. Being a junior, he probably wants to start somewhere and he wasn't going to crack the starting lineup here.

I hope Cassell Jr. takes a step forward this year. He may have to give meaningful minutes in 2016 or in the event of an injury to a guard. If he steps up, it would be a valuable luxury.

Don't say anything optimistic about Cassell Jr in front of PcketknfNiels, he'll have another fit.

He made a post a couple of days back stating his family went on vacation and he had to work which is why he's crabby.
So your saying the best time to break in his house is when he's at work, thanks!;)

Tsam thinks he's doing what's best for him. I wish him well. Those minutes he gave us against Kentucky where Uconn Championship minutes. With that said he was always going to be recruited over. It's to late to prove he can shoot.

.-.
Always liked TSam. Yes, he had limitations, but he was a reserve guard who had the heart to step in and play important minutes when needed. The kind of player who can, and did, make the difference between winning a championship and not. Unfortunately, he wasn't satisfied with his role going forward, but who can criticize a kid for wanting to play. I'll be rooting for him.

Look guys- I have slogged through this thread and there are a few truths buried in here.

1) It's not a good thing TSam left for the team next year- but it most likely the best move for him as a person.
2) We should all be grateful for his contribution to our NC. (Same as I feel about AO without the jerk father).
3) It could be a "good thing" depending on what KO can do to fill the many spots we will have available.

Should be an interesting time for KO and the staff -we are going to get a good read on our immediate future and I-like everyone else here- hopes KO knocks our socks off with some amazing new talent. Let's give him a chance to shine. We will have plenty of time to complain if he falls short.

DOOMED!!!

With Samuel gone and adding another PG to this roster is uncertain, will this mean a bigger lineup for the Huskies?

Check out their current depth:

Adams-Purvis-Hamilton-Miller-Brimah

Guards: Cassel, Calhoun; Forwards: Facey, Enoch, Nolan...

The starting lineup height: 6'2, 6'4, 6'7, 6'7, 7'1
The bench: 6'4, 6'5, 6'9, 6'10, 6'10

To me, this gives the Huskies a lot of opportunities to play bigger, thus potentially improving team defense. Maybe a strategy this year is to outsize our opponents and make the other team prevent "driving into the trees"?

This greater concentration of size could be a very good thing for the Huskies.

Having a good dude who helped win a title leave the program is not a good thing.

I can't believe Mau hasn't responded yet. Aren't all our players under 6'6?
