CW has hit the wall she simply played too much basketball this summer mentally she is burnt out...She needs to go to come off the bench...start Aubrey...Have CW and Anna come off the bench...

Kyla needs to play much more aggressively she was passive and got eaten up...

CD and Anna played very well Olivia had a good second half...MW was average but was better on defense even though she was out sized...

MVP of game was TN Team for all the unforced turnovers.

Silver lining imagine if all 5 players of our players played With energy, we would have blown them out...

Poise and execution was much better in 2nd half...
If CW goes to the bench and Aubrey starts in her place why would Anna come off the bench? Wouldn’t she start for Kyla. Aubrey’s complete game isn’t there yet but I expect to see her come in for CW, Meg or ONO, though, for a good 20 minutes. Anna’s game is closer to complete but there could be magic having both on floor at same time.

Geno has said this team is not like the teams we've had the past several years... No Kia, No Gabby, No Pheesa, No Lou, etc, etc, etc... BUT...that said... They still WIN... except for Baylor and they were in that game through over 3 quarters. They WON on a night when the outside shots were not falling. They WON by MOV of 15, when Massey and other services estimated the MOV would be 13 points.

Let's relish the win. We KNOW the Players will get back in the gym and work, work, work on their shooting.

I always loved roller coaster rides as a kid... and when the Team is 17-1, I'll take the ride as long as it continues!!! WHHHHEEEEEEEEEE :D :cool:

Can we agree the Irwin experiment should be over. Zero points again and several first period turnovers. A nice young lady and could probably start for a number of AAC teams, but she doesn’t have the skill set to match up against the quality teams. Aubrey on the other hand brought energy to a team that looked dead in the water. Until she entered the game I thought we might lose. She brought intensity when needed most, not bad stats either 13 points, 5 steals, 3/4 assists, and constantly pounded the offensive and defensive boards. I would give her a couple of starts and let her set screens and pound the boards.
Well, it's not up to us, but it's pretty clear that after Geno took her out of the game in the first half, she never came back in. Going forward, I think Anna starts again, with the Eveready Bunny, a.k.a. Aubrey 1st off the bench'

I'm really happy Aubrey played great so Geno could send Liv a message..... I am not sure what happened to her over Christmas but she hasn't been the same since until tonight in the 4th after she got benched to start the 3rd and saw Aubrey handle things just fine!

Number one priority was beating TN... I'm sure it was the one game on the schedule that fans would not want to have lost. Now, to the future. The Irwin experiment needs to end, now! Her stat line was all 0's across the board, except for TO's, which was three. Start Anna, and make AG the first sub off the bench. As much as I like Irwin as a person and a teammate, she cannot hang with good, athletic teams. I thought CW had turned a corner a few games ago, but lately she is struggling with her shot again. At least she plays hard, but if she doesn't rediscover her shooting touch we are in trouble.
I will reluctantly give CD and MW a pass tonight, because they have been pretty solid all year -- and where would we have been without CD in the first quarter? But we need more from them than we got tonight. Liv -- what to say... lousy first half, but seemed more aggressive in the second half. We need consistent performance from her.
I said in a post a few weeks ago that we need to win at least one of the Baylor, Oregon, South Carolina games. And that we HAD to win the TN game. So at least we won this one. :)

When our most important players are having an off day, you need less heralded players to step up. And that's what happened today. You gotta love it.

The goal, as always, is to make this UConn team as competitive as it can be in the postseason. This was not the finish of the process, but getting the youngsters to step up is just another step along the way.

If you can get the big three players AND the youngsters all playing well at once against ranked teams, I like our chances. That would be one of the final steps for this team, if we are fortunate enough to see it.
Game like this will hopefully allow the big three to realize they don’t need to do it all by themselves. They can trust giving Anna and Aubrey the ball and them make a play. I felt crystal in the second half rushed and tried to do too much one on one.

Aubrey and Anna combine 18 pts, 15 rebs, 7 asts, 8 stls ....wowww

Today is freshmen day, and I see good future is coming ...
They were something like a combined +35. All the pre game press was UTs freshmen, got that wrong. 2nd half was won by the freshmen and sophmores.

I was very impressed with our A and A. Aubrey, her total all-around game was Wowser! Anna, so composed as a Geno said and her lock-down defense was Superb!
I just wish some of the players would pass to her. Anna’s open a lot! Our family had fun yelling at the TV tonight. Love our UCONN gals!

Haven't a lot of our teams seemed to have shooting woes in the XL Center?
I thought that this was a game discussion by the announcers in previous XL Center games.
I don't know? Lou hardly ever missed at the XL.

Let’s not go that far. Without CW we would’ve been destroyed by Baylor.

Well we stuck with ya for a half and played decently but couldn’t stop turning it over. Y’all put on a clinic that second half. Congrats on the win. Appreciated Coach Geno’s comments about the LV in his after-game interview (said we were better than the 23rd ranking...kinda shocked he said that). Lots for us to work on. See y’all next year in Knoxville.

I think this was kinda your only real chance at beating UConn for some time to come. Next year spit changes big time.
