As a lifetime Lady Vol fan, I'm embarrassed honestly. To have so many highly ranked recruits, and still look this awful is just wholly disappointing. If we didn't have Diamond, I'm afraid we would have lost the Penn State, UTC and Syracuse games as well. I'm thinking now maybe 12-13 regular season losses and possibly missing out on the tournament..things will get worse before they get better I'm afraid

Massey has dropped UTenn ranking to 34th. His result predictions show potential losses for 8 additional schedule games. Add that to probable tournament losses and your 12-13 losses seems reasonable..

Very very happy to see TN lose. Anytime, any place, anywhere, any sport for that matter, but of course especially WBB. I hope they keep Warlick for as long as possible. I personally recommend a lifetime contract.

I also have no sympathy for LV fans. They chose their bed. Let them sleep in it.

McGraw just turned 60, I think Ivey will be their next head coach.
If HW really want's what is best for UT she will resign, Hart would not pay out her contract and the fan base is going to have to organize and push him to hire a respectable replacement.
Diamond and the other NC transfers should have stayed at UNC, they would be Juniors and a F4 team.
Most pathetic Lady Vol's game I have watched over 20 years, feel bad for the fan's.
Look's to me like the team quit, more problems then just coaching but it is the biggest problem of all.

There are many problems at Tenn and its been that way for quite sometime. From what I understand Pat is still in the picture and you cant have more then one coach. You have to have coachable players you cant have your players do as they please, all those AA's who want the ball to shoot and play one on one ala the low assists and Hollys comments about not understanding whats going on. Tenns loss to WVa is no surprise. Tenn is lucky they didn't lose more games . This is not a team.

Does Tenn need a new coach? I think so. Do you think the alums are going to pay more money for a good coach to turn the program around or do you think the alums are going to put their monies behind the Tenn Football Team? I think the ladder. Which is another problem. A new coach needs to rebuild the program and Pat needs to be out of the picture...completely. The Tenn fans will have to understand that before you can get better you have to get worse. The new coach would have to be somebody with experience in winning, building a winning team, a disciplinarian, and be given full reins to run the team. This team is going nowhere so does it really matter who plays and who sits?????

This Tenn roster of players is a Final Four roster but not a final four team. Because it isn't a team. There is no argument there. They aren't even a top 10 team which is something I have been saying for years. They don't know how to execute and they seem not to wanna play tuff defense ala play lazy and go through the motions. Not every player but most. As I stated there are problems at Tenn and its been that way for sometime. You cant coach uncoachable players so IMO sit the players who wont follow directions from the coaching staff and go with the players who will listen and are coachable. If your top kids don't like sitting and being disciplined then let them transfer out and start you rebuilding there.

So my message to Tenn is, Clean House. Sit the un coachable kids until they turn themselves around and work with the kids who want it. If you cant change your players then change your players. Get Pat out of the locker room. Start from scratch and rebuild the program.

The future of Tennessee does look LaTech-ish, doesn't it. Their saving grace is that they're in the SEC, a conference of some significance.

Simply put, Holly needs to go. What I see as a challenge is what the new coach would inherit: a team with talent and no discipline... Whoever comes in would have to be a taskmaster, with the reputation to back it - and risk working with grumpy players who mutter their way through the rest of their Vol career or transfer. So be it. That means the program and its fans would have to put on their big girl pants, grit and endure.

The question is who to bring in. Kara has no coaching experience, nor does Catchings. Carolyn and Van would be a disaster. They've missed out on a flurry of possibilities - just look at the west coast and mid-west programs that took risks that are paying off... Don't envy the fan base - but honestly, I don't know if I care. I like that Dawn exists and is moving to take over TN's role as Big Dog in the SEC. I like the resurgence of the PAC 12 and the rise of Texas as well as some mid-majors. If TN fades, all that talent that gets drawn by it's history now moves to other programs....

Diamond needs to go back to being the player she was... this team-ball crap doesn't help her at all

Sarcasm?? Judging by her VT stat line, she's all the way back!

Yes folks, it appears that the wheels have begun to wobble, and are in danger of coming off of the old Tennessee Volunteer schooner.
Many sports writers and critics believed that THIS was the best team that coach Warlick has had since taking over for Pat Summit.
I commented in an earlier post that I thought Tennessee was still a year or two away from being a legitimate contender for a NC.

Agree. She should shoot at least 40 times a game. Possibly 50.
Well actually it really wouldn't have hurt the Vols much if DD had taken all their shots this season. If you apply her shooting stats to the number of shots the Vols have taken overall on FGs, 3pt FGs, and FTs, the point total is 535, and the Vols have scored just 1 more point this season at 536. Seems like the least you can do to keep your mega star happy is to give her all the shots. Why let any lesser players take them? Their job is to feed her the ball, grab rebounds, and play rock solid defense, and they should let DD do the rest.

as someone who sits in the stands, I will say this: give the ball to Diamond and let do what she wants. the other guards, aside from cooper, are as timid as a mouse. at least DD isn't scared to fail. they are.

Let's start a Keep Holly Warlick campaign. I say extend her contract another five years!

I suggest a coordinated letter-writing campaign to the AD, using fictitious return addresses from deep within the Smoky Mountains . . . .

Catchings needs to coach the Lady Vols. Period. She is retiring and could really bring the fire back. THE BEST LADY VOL EVER!
Has anyone ever seen any indication that Catchings wants to or can coach. Many great players have been tremendous failures as coaches. Trying to find an untested and no experience alum to coach the LV is not an approach I would take.

I said before the season this LV team had disaster written all over it. I thought disaster meant them riding the Sweet 16/Elite 8 line. Now I am feeling I over under estimated the extent of the problems.

You're earlier post on mass transfer rumors.
Tongue in cheek?
Or serious consideration?
No apparent references in print that I could find

All I know is Holly chose to sit versus sitting the players that didn't give her effort on the floor.
