Tell me about the NEW Big Ten

Maryland has had a good opening to their season capped off by their win over Duke this afternoon. The interesting thing is the Terps are using an 8 player rotation and DeBerry is not one of the 8 players. With Dalce in foul trouble (14 rebounds), I'm surprised Brenda didn't use her some in this game.

Really nice win for Maryland. They were excellent attacking the basket.

Duke looked rough offensively—I’ve shocked they got to 80 points with how many point blank layups they missed. Fournier reminds me a lot of Angel Reese in that she’s physical, active on the glass and athletic but not a great finisher. Donovan also blew so many open layups. If they finish better it’s a closer game. Margin was 5 but Maryland was pretty much in full control wire to wire

Two things can be true. Good win for Maryland. And a bad loss for Duke.

And I am sorry to say that I noticed Deberry didn’t play.

I was a little disappointed when I looked at Oregon’s schedule. I am not sure if they play a road game until 2025.

But yes. Holding serve at home against Baylor is impressive.

Oregon withstands a furious 4th quarter rally by #12 Baylor to win by two. Ducks had brief lead of 16 near the end of the third. I've been hoping this was a brand new Duck team ready to be competitive in the BIG. It seems to be. Good speed, headiness, depth at guard, much improved shooting. Could be a fun year.

Definitely better than last season. The only concern I had last night was Kyei playing more than necessary because of the post situation. She didn't look comfortable at some points. Just hope they haven't rushed her back too soon.

Oregon only favored by 10.5 against North Texas. Plz don't let this be trap game

Won by 30 with a lock down defense and a less than stellar offense.
13(!) Ducks scored.
Meviius and Falatea off the bench with 11 each.
11:00 AM start time? Short turnaround from Sunday night.

Terps defeat Syracuse on the road this evening. Smikle had another strong game. When Bri McDaniel stay out of foul trouble, she is a difference maker. Deberry played and did basically nothing. (grabbed 2 rebounds)

After taking 15 shots in the first half , Juju appears to have finished with only 20. I think she sat out the last 4 minutes as well. Part of my excitement about USC was their infusion of offensive talent to lighten the load. But Juju definitely has a scorers mentality. She takes a lot of quick shots and also kinda runs the point often. I think it may be on coach Gotlieb and TVO to get her off the ball more as well as get other players good looks

Don't look now, but Penn State is off to another hot start this season. Yeah, they haven't played anyone, but still. Moriah Murray and Grace Merkle are quite the duo. Kapinus WHO? Ciezki WHO?

This is terrible. Mara just can’t catch a break. Losing Mara Braun destroyed Minnesota’s season last year.

Just heartbreaking for Mara. My heart goes out to her. Moments like this, you just hope that these players are getting all the support they need.

Ten Big 10 teams in the top 27 of the latest poll.
Oh wow! I just took a look at UCLA's schedule. If some of these rankings don't fluctuate much, then they are looking at one brutal February.

I actually think that Maryland will beat them first on 1/26, but we'll see.

Iowa remained unbeaten today. But it was ugly. Tie game with Rhode Island heading into the 4th quarter.

The big story is that Lucy Olsen did not play due to a cut on her knee. It really sounds like a fluke thing that happened to her; maybe as a result of a bad local practice facility? But Iowa looked like a totally different team without her. I think Iowa can beat BYU without her. But if she is not 100% at that Tennessee game; I think that is a certain L.

I think they have a great shot against USC but I think both USC and UCLA height might give them some issues. Both are home games for the Terps who play very well at home. Even last year during their mediocre season.

Michigan versus Belmont is on a weird channel I have never heard of. Women’s sports network? I have lg channels, so I guess I have it.

I will try to watch. Women’s college basketball is really testing me this week with all of these hard to find games. It makes me appreciate ESPN+.

Yeah, while it's weird at least it's free to view from what I can tell per their website. Didn't realize it was available via Plex so I may try to watch as well.

68-58 Michigan defeats Belmont. Not too impressive of a win. They had a turnover issue today.

Michigan did play tough defense throughout though. And they maximized their free points at the free throw line.

I say it every time I watch Michigan. But I can see why UConn wanted Olson.

I am hoping to see Michigan play Va Tech tomorrow.

I think Michigan is good. But may be a bit overrated. In addition to the Va Tech game. I want to see them against Oklahoma.
