Sunday Games Thread

I was just rechecking the listings to find out when the next episode of Lady Vols trainwreck is on... and I see they're playing a Monday game vs. Arkansas. Kinda weird for that game (hardly a marquee TV matchup) to be scheduled on a Monday.
Remember, this is the "We back Pat week" so Tennessee needs to be on. Plus, there may be a major announcement before the game...

Appears from the Box Score that D. Mabrey is being shutout in first half. Only non zero stat is 1 TO.

I am blacked out also. NYC ?

Probably because it's MLK Day; I think it's common to have nationally-broadcast WBB games on MLK Day.

I did but just realized I am in Connecticut and the NC game may be blacked out due to ND playing BC....arrrrggghhh!
That would surprise me. On Sling if you go to ACC Network Extra you should see all of the ACC games currently playing (VT-NCSt, BC-ND, Lou-WF).

Yes....... the RSN games that are listed on the ACC Network are blacked out if you watch on the ESPN app... but not if you use the SlingTV.

3:55 left 3rd quarter...NC State holding a 42-38 lead. About a minute prior, Kiara Leslie fouled a three-point shot, which resulted in three FT for VaTech. NC State shows signs of stretching the lead but the Hokies always get it back to a three-point or four-point deficit.

.-.
Kiara Leslie with a sweet move around a defender to give NC State a 45-44 lead, going to the 4th. VaTech went on a 9-0 run before NC State scored again.

Leslie with back-to-back THREEs...51-47 lead for NC State. Timeout Va Tech, 6:45 left.

Leslie with 21 points.

Leslie with back-to-back threes to give State all the momentum and a 4-point lead.

She's also doing a great job defending Emery, who has really struggled to get open looks.

Apparently not.. I can't watch even on Sling Head bang

Wow really? You're blacked out because why?

Not sure.. I managed to watch the state vs Duke game that was on RSN, thought I could catch this one

.-.
Still tight in Raleigh...4:30 left and NC State holding on a to a 53-50 lead. Nice charge taken by Erika Cassell.

So, kind of subtly, you and @Plebe have called me an idiot...ouch, that hurts...:(

Glad to see that the ACC Network upgraded their "infomercial production" with the ABSOLUTELY STUPIDLY ANNOYING, "You gotta take the wheel" lingo and what the H..l does that even mean!!!!

VaTech is just sizzling from THREE...57-56, NC State, 2:08 left.

What an exciting game! 13 seconds left...VaTech with the ball. NC State up 59-58.

This game is going down to the wire. The refs are reviewing an out-of-bounds call, this will be huge. NC State with a 1-point lead with 13 secs to play. And it's VT's ball. They'll have a chance to win the game here.

OMG! Turnover on the inbounds play...Embrey for VaTech drives and is fouled. Makes one of two FT...59-59 game. State ball at midcout with 5 seconds left.

.-.
WHOA! Emery missed her 3 but then stole the inbounds and got fouled. She makes the first FT to tie the game but misses the second. Now NC State calls timeout to set up the final play.

Overtime.
The rest of the games today will have a hard time living up to the quality and excitement of this one.

Meanwhile, I am stuck in ACC purgatory- either ND/BC 59-42 or Louisville/Wake 52-37...

I have to give NC State fans some credit. I don't know what their attendance figures are like, but just watching it on TV they sound loud and engaged. Great environment for a game.
Just the opposite for Maryland Penn State, ranked team at home on national TV and more empty seats than fans.

NC State getting the edge in OT. Just took a 5-point lead with 1:30 to play. Emery has missed a lot of shots today.

.-.
44 seconds left...VaTech ball. NC State up 66-61. Freshman Elissa Cunane has come up big in OT.

Free throws matter in close games. Cunane for NC State hit 2 on one end to get the 5-point lead for State. Then Alexis Jean, who has played very sparingly this year, misses both on the other end.

That call was huge. Forced Tech to foul and Leslie makes both for a 7-point lead.

This will be 2 tough OT losses for VT: one to Syracuse and another to NC State.

Leslie now with 25 points...70-61, NC State...34 seconds left.

NC State finishes the game on a 9-0 run to improve to 18-0, 5-0 ACC with a hard-fought 70-61 win over VaTech. Kiara Leslie with 25 points...Ace Konig added 23 for the Wolfpack Women.
