St. John's Post Game Thread

Did anyone else see this early in the game..... SJU was off to a big lead and the TV camera caught Hurley crouching on the sideline and mouthing the words "we suck" to someone off-camera....we certainly did tonight.
Good he calls it like it is

Have fun at your parade you fn mopes.

Reed plays very hard. But how is it that’s he’s much bigger than Sanogo but a much less effective rebounder? His positioning and rebounding angles arent great. We got destroyed by offensive rebounds and second chance points among other things.

Player A - 11.6rpg per 40
Player B - 12.5rpg per 40

Who's who?

We outrebounded SJU 38-30 and had 17 offensive rebounds to their 8.

Did you hear the remark from Hurley to Reed in the huddle recently where he reminded Reed he had 11 rebounds but should have had 17? That applies.

Hurley does not make adjustments. And him putting Silas back in was moronic.
He does, but he will never be in Rick's class for in-game adjustments. I agree with putting Silas back in. Could have ended the season there.

It was the fan’s fault.
Actually, fans'

You can't really blame it on one guy. This is a team effort, just as it's been from the players and the coaches. Stay safe while you celebrate.

There's so much confidence, power, and authority in this thread, it's clear that many have gotten what they wanted tonight and are here to enjoy it.

Y'all knew where to come and party. Now
get on your pony and ride.

Ugh thank you for saying this.

We were literally running flare wing action we haven’t run all season 2 nights ago.

We were running high post passing sets LAST NIGHT vs Georgetown we haven’t run all season.

Most college teams run virtually all iso ball. Our offense compared to normal college offenses might as well be a different sport.
Ok coach!

Will he go? Probably. Should he go? That’s the question. The guys that will be in his chest and running him off the three point line in the league will be grown men that are bigger, stronger, and more athletic than what he faced tonight. I think he needs to get bigger and stronger. Hawkins was a lottery pick and is coming off the bench. And I thought he was far more ready than Mullins is now.
He 100% should go. He is the exact type of prospect, at the right age, with the precise skills, the NBA wants. Hawkins was not nearly the prospect this kid is.

Why do you think that happens every tournament?

Why do you think we are the only big east team that has success in the tournament and the rest of them flame out early?

Cause it’s pretty obvious, and why everyone should really just relax about games like this.
lost 2nd round last year...obviously had b/bs..not sure about only team to have success...you living off the back to backs... think some others have had success from the big east...i mean what's your success expectations?... this team isn't winning a national title, wish they would but if you have witnessed uconn mens basketball for 40 years you know, they showed up horribly in crunch time 2xs to end this yr..... don't ride the back to back to determine success by other big east teams... back to back is rare and history and either team would beat this team by 30 like they did to many on their runs

If we can’t hit threes then we will lose. Ball and Karaban are way to reliant on the three. They can’t hit threes then they don’t score besides an occasional layup. Mullins shot has disappeared I not longer think any of their shots are going in when they shoot anymore.

I guess we have to be happy with a sweet 16 since we blew the big east, if we get there.

30 win team most likely and nothing to show for it.
I am not giving up on this team and they can go farther than the Sweet 16. However, it's gotten to the point whenever they shoot 3s I just don't expect them to go in.

This isn’t remotely true. Even now, outside of the confines of this very stale offense, Braylon is different than everyone on the floor.

Again.

What does he do well?

Average ball handler, below average defender, not a plus-athlete. Not a particularly gifted passer. Physically, he’s more high school than college, let alone NBA - he’s just weak. He can’t get to the rim against decent defenders - guy has taken 25 free throws all season because he avoids contact like grim death.

He needs to come back in the worst way. Pocket a few million here next season and then go
