Or allowed to play like that. Not every team plays suffocating D like St. John’s.
Or allowed to play like that. Not every team plays suffocating D like St. John’s.
The offense is predictable. Mullins is still a stud. Did some people forget the game last night? Its not like UConn runs special plays for Mullins, which they shouldThis isn’t remotely true. Even now, outside of the confines of this very stale offense, Braylon is different than everyone on the floor.
Pitino started the season with three relatively redundant shooters in the starting lineup (Jackson, sellers and Sanon) but adjusted and balanced it as the season went along moving Mitchell into the starting lineup and featuring much more of Darling. This team peaked in December. Same issues on both ends (especially offense) has been repeated but no solution. I just think we are limited with our players - everything has to break right for this team to go far against top competition. As far as Danny, easily his worst coaching job in his UConn tenure. Players & the team never developed at all.
I mean it came from Hurley himself. It's already seemingly been confirmed as a mild ankle sprain
We recently lost to horrendous Creighton and Marquette teams. I don't know how anyone could be shocked if we lose in the opening round. This is bonkers. Will be quoting this overreaction in a week
Agreed. The 2024 team was arguably in the top 5 teams of all time. We had the right players and talent to optimize Murray’s euro style. This team edition never could figure it out it offensively. I’m very disappointed but I don’t want to come across as the typical Kentucky fan, meaning we’re entitled to a natty every year. The very recent program success has created an insatiable monster fan base.I don’t want to hear another damn word about seedlings, about titles, or about being an elite team. We are talented. We are not elite. We are a good team. We are not a title contender. We don’t have an alpha. This team with AJ looks different. This team with Cam looks different. Shit this team with TN looks different. I am so freaking disappointed, not with the loss, but with how piss poor we looked. How it was obvious to a lay person that the opponent was playing harder than us. I cannot abide by that. I don’t mind losing. I hate losing when we are out hustled and out hearted.
Smoked by Marquette? That was a much better BE.The 23’ team lost 8 conference games, got smoked in the BET by Marquette, and won pretty easily.
I really don’t see much difference.
The fact people have watched this conference for the last 5 years and don’t get the fact that big east play has literally no impact on what we do out of conference and in the tournament is crazy to me.
We are the only team in the league that runs an advanced offense. We are also the only team in the league that is affected by the brutal officiating. It automatically creates a more even playing field. And that’s before the personal vendetta the stripes have vs Hurley.
No one in the NCAAs has experience playing vs our sets. No one in the NCAAs is built on playing borderline football and getting away with it like Big East teams are.
I genuinely don’t think we can lose to anyone but the top 5 teams. Feed me Purdue, feed me Ilinois. Feed me Nebraska. Feed me legitimately any other team but Michigan/Zona/Houston/Florida/Duke and we win in a blowout.
I think they go out in the round of 32 when everyone on their team fouls out.Or allowed to play like that.
Well if you said it it must be true!We are absolutely not a team that can string 6 wins off, that I am confident in. Elite 8 ceiling.
Tarris is all that kept us in it for most of the game.
2024 would work if we had the right players. We have a shortish, non dynamic, cold shooting 2 that can't defend. We brought in a dude that looks 14 as our go to guy on offense, who is primarily a 3 pt hoister. We have a 4 who plays slow and unathletic, and is also primarily a jump shooter. This is just another lousy year of roster construction.
All I saw is the tweet, so can't say I saw Hurley confirm it, just being careful with how I word it.I mean it came from Hurley himself.
To be fair, if we went by what Hurley says, J Stew would have been back since Marquette. Probably too early to really know and he's not going to come out and say Silas season is overI mean it came from Hurley himself.
Will he go? Probably. Should he go? That’s the question. The guys that will be in his chest and running him off the three point line in the league will be grown men that are bigger, stronger, and more athletic than what he faced tonight. I think he needs to get bigger and stronger. Hawkins was a lottery pick and is coming off the bench. And I thought he was far more ready than Mullins is now.“If Mullins comes back” should not even be a phrase uttered anymore. They is NO CHANCE Mullins comes back, he is a sure thing first round pick, close to a high lottery pick. The delusion must end.
Does anyone on this board who has been a Uconn fan for 35 plus year really think this team can win it?
Will quote you next week : )We recently lost to horrendous Creighton and Marquette teams. I don't know how anyone could be shocked if we lose in the opening round.
Good he calls it like it isDid anyone else see this early in the game..... SJU was off to a big lead and the TV camera caught Hurley crouching on the sideline and mouthing the words "we suck" to someone off-camera....we certainly did tonight.
Reed plays very hard. But how is it that’s he’s much bigger than Sanogo but a much less effective rebounder? His positioning and rebounding angles arent great. We got destroyed by offensive rebounds and second chance points among other things.
Yeah we are going to be a 2 seed so we aren't losing to a 14 seed in the first weekend.I can’t wait to quote you on all this. Believe me, I will![]()
Because they didn’t miss muchWe out rebounded them 38-30
Demary shot 43% from 3 this year. Ross 36.4%, Stewie just under 35%. All better than ball at 31%.Hope we have great shooting from the starting PF and C next year or we are in deep shit on offense
Did you hear the remark from Hurley to Reed in the huddle recently where he reminded Reed he had 11 rebounds but should have had 17? That applies.Player A - 11.6rpg per 40
Player B - 12.5rpg per 40
Who's who?
We outrebounded SJU 33-26 and had 15 offensive rebounds to their 6.
If you think our offense is predictable this tells me you watch VERY little college bball outsi
He does, but he will never be in Rick's class for in-game adjustments. I agree with putting Silas back in. Could have ended the season there.Hurley does not make adjustments. And him putting Silas back in was moronic.
Is that you Freescooter?
They absolutely run plays for Mullins........The offense is predictable. Mullins is still a stud. Did some people forget the game last night? Its not like UConn runs special plays for Mullins, which they should
Insane.Stewart couldn’t start for Duquesne let alone UConn
