St. John's Post Game Thread

The shots didn’t fall. The officiating favors physical play and we’re movement offense. It’s always matchups, and Pitino teams are our kryptonite. I hope we get a 3 seed like Purdue or Illinois or Vandy. A defensive team like Tennessee or Houston anywhere in the region is bad news.

Go out and get some athletes and some guys with attitude.

Go out and get you a killa kam and an Ajax.

Go get some dawgs. Too many nice guys on this team we need some guys that want to snatch the hearts of other teams.

Go out and get some energy guys. Some guys that can make plays that get the other guys going.

Go out and get a guard that wants the ball in his hands whe the team is struggling to that can score get fouled or set someone else up to score.

Yeah the secret is out. Team is soft, only Reed can stand up to any physicality, the guards wings and backup big get overwhelmed against it. That second game against them couldn’t have been more of a fluke.
I think Demary is tough but he has no one to help him out with pressure. Sure can't rely on Smith in a double PG system. I'm sure Hurley envisioned them playing together when we were getting pressured so much. Unfortunately Smith is not a UConn level player.

If we can’t hit threes then we will lose. Ball and Karaban are way to reliant on the three. They can’t hit threes then they don’t score besides an occasional layup. Mullins shot has disappeared I not longer think any of their shots are going in when they shoot anymore.

I guess we have to be happy with a sweet 16 since we blew the big east, if we get there.

30 win team most likely and nothing to show for it.

No athleticism, 3 point shooting, and driving ability. No nba talent either. The one that will go looked like a middle school kid out there tonight. Going to be a busy off season. We will need a lot of help.
Yeah we will. It's going to take a lot more than just finding a 4. I'd say if Dan wants to be a contender, there is some overhaul that needs to happen in places that are fairly obvious (guys that can't defend).

Whether a better prospect or not, McNeeley was a much more ready to contribute college player than Mullins given size and willingness to get physical. I honestly don't know what Hurley was thinking with putting a slight spot up shooter next to a spot up shooter next to a 4 that is pretty much a spot up shooter. This formula stinks.
They are what I thought they were, but continue to argue about it.

Dan Hurley has not done them any favors by blowing smoke other butts all year.
It's what Dan does. He either becomes a TV personality or a salesman in his next career.

Demary is just not a natural PG - he's a combo guard that has some passing ability. He has a really bad tendency to dribble into nothing off balance, or hit a wall and pivot.
