St. John's Post Game Thread

I know this sucks, but it's literally the same team that boatraced SJU a few games ago, it's not the team construction.

St John’s just came out flat and wasn’t gonna beat anyone that day. And we just took advantage.

Alex has no business inbounding the ball. If I see him pass the ball to the ref and let the defense get set on the press one more time I will not have a television

I get the first half was awful, we fought 2H and tried to make it a game, but what I dislike about this team most is that they gave up once it was out of reach.

Dog mentality is missing…

We missed so many shots at the rim. You have to dunk those shots. Rebounding and 3 point shooting was terrible.
Also. Demary can't in bound the ball.

Tarris played his testiculos off, so major props to him. He competed without looking scared. Can't say that for many others.

We are always going to struggle against athletic teams, and their 2, 3, and 4 absolutely outplayed ours on both sides of the court.

I still believe we can beat just about anyone, but it's more about matchups.

We have one guy who can handle the ball and create offense. One.

We will need major upgrades athletically to this roster, especially at the 4 and 5.

hurley got to do some homework and see if this team can actually hit 3s. like just do a 3pt test see whats their % are. you cant just blindly rely on guys shoot 3, its not like recruit bunch of short guys and expect every short guys able to shoot 3

Don't put much stock in this game. It wasn't our night. They sped us up in the first half. Not our game.

If you want a faster pace, we can't play a good team at a faster pace. It exposes all our weakness and we get sloppy.

All that matters is the NCAA. I would bet that we go further than SJU in the tourney.

I doubt we win a game in the NCAA. Secret is out... apply any kind of athletic pressure, we melt. Our guards can't get by anyone & can't hit shots even when open

Yeah the secret is out. Team is soft, only Reed can stand up to any physicality, the guards wings and backup big get overwhelmed against it. That second game against them couldn’t have been more of a fluke.

I mean part of it is the team construction. We’re streaky because we rely so much on the outside shot and when it’s not falling, we have literally one player that can reliably put the ball on the floor and beat his man. I’m guessing if you got a really candid take from Hurley, he’d admit that he gambled a little too much on jumps in play making ability from a decent chunk of the team. I do not expect he will gamble again this offseason.

No athleticism, 3 point shooting, and driving ability. No nba talent either. The one that will go looked like a middle school kid out there tonight. Going to be a busy off season. We will need a lot of help.

There are no alpha's on this team- El-Amin, Hamilton, Okafor, Kemba, Shabazz, Clingan, Spencer, etc.. Thats what we need next year. Someone that thrives on the pressure.

Hard to win when you spot the opponents 10 points to start the game. The fact that we had 2 shots to claim a BE title and both times the team came out flat and uninterested is a bad look for Hurley.

I couldn't believe there was no update from the broadcast team, but Gus Johnson doesn't even know where he is. Joe Arruda on Twitter said he had to be helped off. Hoping he is ok.

Props to the Johnies. They outplayed us on both ends. Got it down to 7. Reed missed that bunny and we never recovered.

The comeback attempt took a lot out of them.

Didn't help that we shot poorly from 3.

SJ never let them feel comfortable on offense. They knew our sets and Zuby was huge.
