I appreciate the effort to provide offseason content... but yeah they need to stop these plays of the day

I like seeing them so we see what they are doing in practice. At least we are seeing something. Look at it this way.. ball was knocked out of his hands.. good for the defense!!

I think they are specifically choosing "plays of the day" that don't show up the other team. If you've noticed, none of the plays have been that spectacular for either side. Either that, or the reality is there's a really small sample of good plays to work with.

3rd of 4 #UConn football practices open to media in the books. Not sure what else the 2019 Huskies will be able to do but seems rather likely they will be able to run the ball effectively. Dante Black was impressive today playing behind Kevin Mensah & Art Thompkins

Let's get the hogs in formation and run the ball 50 times per game. Keep that defense off the field.

This is clearly the strategy.

Lets see if they can do it against a real defense who can stack 8 in the box.

It’s the only area I am confident will be a strength. I think offensive line will be above average, especially the run blocking in the interior, and Thompkins and Mensa are solid backs.

But if our passing game remains the same or worse, another one win season is in the cards.

Did anyone see that we had Bobby Valentine give a motivational speech today? How many of those kids would even know who he is? And what would he tell them? That he ran the Red Sox into the ground in hilarious fashion and put on a disguise in the Mets dugout after being tossed from a game?

Bobby V does birthday parties and bar mitzvahs too.

Seriously - look it up - people claim he might be CT's greatest athlete of all time.....supposedly as good or better RB than baseball player.....or so legend goes.

If they introduced him as the guy who invented the wrap, the kids could easily relate. Or the fact that Valentine is a millionaire, they would listen.

Most of the kids are smart enough to use wikipedia.

Valentine is also a legend in Japan.

USC thought he was a better prospect then OJ Simpson in football just to give you an idea of his talent level in football alone.

Yes..yes..yes... but thats just the start of it.

Legend has it because Bobby V took it to the house every time he touched the ball, Walter Camp changed the shape of the ball so the opposing team could try to catch up by utilizing the "forward pass."

As remarkable as that tale maybe, consider also that Bobby was so fast that Kodak engineers created the "letterbox" format in an effort to have a frame large enough to capture images to the blazing (and blurring) running back.

But it doesn't end there, consider this - the McRib (like the Baby Ruth) was originally created by McDonalds as deference to his steely core which routinely deflected every would be tackler.

Yes the suburban lore of Bobby V playing football in Stamford in the 1960s runs deep down here....

I'm sure others have stories - so please share.
