Effort, to me it’s an excuse and defense mechanism to accept losing.

I have two, that bother me for different reasons:

1) Gutsy - it's sports it's not war, how gutsy is anything you do??
2) XX controls their destiny. Destiny is something that is predetermined. You can never control it.

Mispronouncing of words such the following.

Penalized pronounced as Peenalized no it should be Pen-alized. The word Tour in tournament when it should be pronounced Turnament.

“Walk off”. I could swear it used to be reserved for the first batter in a tie game in bottom of the 9th or extra innings. Now, it’s used for every extra inning game when a guy gets a hit driving the winning run home.

I don't see how either of those can be classified as "mispronunciations." They're just other pronunciations.

I mean... but feel free to feel annoyed by them, I guess.

The Patriots. Oh, I thought you said teams you can’t stand.
I just opened this thread for the first time last night because A) no game til Sunday and B) I thought it said "teams" also, and I was wondering how the subject could could still be going after a day or so.

I hate, "...probably one of the best ever..."

If you already think it's "one of" the best ever, you don't need "probably."

Similarly, the overuse of GOAT (Greatest of all time). Can there really be that many GOATs?

With authority.
Only “insert your favorite quarterback’s name,” could make that throw.

“Zone defense”; that’s an oxymoron.

“OBE” and “NBE”. It’s BEast.

A player or coach you’d like if he was on your team or hate if he was on another team. JC on any other team is still a JC.
