Yoooooooooo. Only ever heard/read hero ball here but I <^#^£~|}^ hate that stupid goshdarn stupid term
It is the worst! Nothing personal to anyone here who uses it, but, dang, I would almost rather listen to Walton than read prose with that term. And that is saying something with my affinity for throwing foam bricks at the tv when he's on and I have to watch!!!

Whoever invented the term "sabermetrics" should go into a computer freeze.

That's really funny Storrsroars. Growing up in the "Burgh" we were inundated.

The term is derived from the acronym SABR, which stands for the Society for American Baseball Research

I can't stand when people attack words/ terms just because they don't understand them

“Launch angle,” too.

I selfishly love launch angle because I was mocked for being all about it in 2004/2005 (Not here, in real life).

now that it’s finally hit mainstream I have some form of vindication over a decade in the making.

I think that applies to many if not the majority of the posts in this thread. Especially the ones about the physics of hitting a baseball. These are not even sports terms per se. They are observations of the physics of the game that have been found to correlate with certain results.
