Why must every loss become a referendum on the program and apparently the entire athletics department? Good grief give it a rest.
Things will be changing before then and brands are what's going to matter. UConn basketball is positioned great for the future, UConn football is positioned poorly for the future. UConn will protect basketball to keep it at the very top at all costs. They aren't going to make any decisions based on football that will hurt basketball. We already did that once.it would be absurd not to. You can’t support a giant athletic program on the $5M a year from BE TV rights.
Yes it has become borderline trolling at this point in a postgame thread. The people who bring it are piling on and getting all horned up on regurgitating their same view points. Why must every loss become a referendum on the program and apparently the entire athletics department? Agree. This game was another gut punch in a season of them. We are better now than a few years ago, and we have hope for the future. I still believe in Mora as HC but he has to make some changes with OC, ST coach, and hire a DC.The sky is not falling. This is a disappointing loss but we are no where near where we were 5 years. I blame Mora for the loss today, but we didn’t get blown out; we lost at the very end.
Sacred Heart and UMass SHOULD be wins.
Tennessee will be a blow out.
I think we will be competitive against both BC and James Madison. With the exception of Georgia State and Duke, we have been in every game.
It’s hilarious people want to give up now but didn’t give up 5 years ago
Dude, and I mean that respectfully, basketball is all we have. And in a major way.The direction this discussion has gone is exemplary of why we suck.
You guys just can’t get basketball off the brain.
Alright. I'll bite. What decision did we make based on football that hurt basketball? Making football D1/FBS in the first place?Things will be changing before then and brands are what's going to matter. I love when people post to tell us they're done. I get the emotion of it but it always reads like a cry for help. It's gonna be okay. Diversify a bit. Losing sucks. Bad refs suck. Playcalling, Conference Realignment. Kids making mistakes. Today was everything rolled into one. We snatched defeat from the Jaws of Victory. But they had a little extra help out there during crunch time.I’m done with this season already
7 years in the AAC.Alright. I'll bite. What decision did we make based on football that hurt basketball? Making football D1/FBS in the first place?
Where would we have gone? Did we have an invitation from the Big East during those years? I don't think we did in the early years.7 years in the AAC.
Independent from the jump in football and stayed with the Catholic 7 in the Big East.Where would we have gone? Did we have an invitation from the Big East during those years? I don't think we did in the early years.
I’m pretty confident our basketball would have suffered in the BE too with Ollie as our coach.7 years in the AAC.
Was staying with the Catholic 7 an option at that time?Independent from the jump in football and stayed with the Catholic 7 in the Big East.
He's not wrongMora gonna tell us again how we need more money?
Probably, but we didn't want to take the risk of going independent in football then would be my guess. Was staying with the Catholic 7 an option at that time?
There’s money. It’s been Mora’s choice.First, I think Mora needs to honestly consider handing defensive coordinator duties off to someone. Maybe there's not enough money to hire a DC, who knows. Figure it out but we need someone other than Mora. He needs to manage the whole thing, not be involved totally in the D.
Second, why Charlton is still on this staff is mind boggling. UConn should hire a UConn student who is an insane Madden player and just give them one of those tablets that shows the plays. Let them study it and have them call in the plays to a person who is like an OC. Honestly, we'd do much better.
Maybe so but playing in empty gyms against Tulane and ECU while we were buried on channels nobody watches was terrible for the basketball program.I’m pretty confident our basketball would have suffered in the BE too with Ollie as our coach.
The Hurley hire has more to do with our basketball success than anything else.
The major accomplishments will be impossible to obtain in the near future. Isn't that what coach was implying in his speech this week? That’s not exactly what I’m saying. What I’m saying is, over the last 25 years, would you rather be Uconn or Pittsburg? UConn or BC? UConn or Syracuse? I’m saying that where we are is not all that bad in comparison to Rutgers, or Maryland, or Wake Forrest, or West Virginia. We have some major accomplishments. They don’t.
People were saying this same thing 10 years ago.The major accomplishments will be impossible to obtain in the near future. Isn't that what coach was implying in his speech this week?
What other choice did we have? We stayed in our conference and that happened.7 years in the AAC.
They do, that is a fact. You need the money to compete and the officials sucked with a couple of non-calls. One was on the USF touchdown which there was holding and it wasn't called. The Pass interference that wasn't called was terrible and the coach was teed off as were many of usMora gonna tell us again how we need more money?
The school has no interest in prioritizing FB at expense of BB.how is it possible that literally every single one of the 131 programs besides us and UMass are able to put together a competent team 2 years in a row? It is mind boggling it is infuriating and it’s utterly depressing. I love this school and I love college football. WHY are we constantly an absolute joke??? Like someone please explain to me how a flagship state school can’t win 5 games a year against G5 backwater programs. It’s insulting to the alumni the fans and the state. Fire Mora fire Charlton fire AD Dave and just clean house. The hell have you got to lose.
Looks like a diagram of the female reproductive system to me.The bulls have a stupid logo. Is it a bull? Is it a U? It's neither.
Saw that. Was one of our players literally pushed out of the end zone? They do, that is a fact. You need the money to compete and the officials sucked with a couple of non-calls. One was on the USF touchdown which there was holding and it wasn't called. The Pass interference that wasn't called was terrible and the coach was teed off as were many of us

They aren't 1-6 because of a lack of money. They do, that is a fact. You need the money to compete and the officials sucked with a couple of non-calls.
