IMO, if A'ja wants to seal the deal on her NPOY aspirations, she needs to put her SC team on her back and beat MsSt. Not sure if it's possible.
(However, my pick for NPOY would still be Lou.)
 
Agree that it will be a close game. I think my Dawgs will find a way to win but it will be tough. I don’t think Aja will take McCowan to the cleaners but she will get her points /rebounds.
We just need to be solid across the board and we will be fine.
 
On paper MSU is 8-10 points better than SC. I think it'll be nip tuck for 2 or 3 quarters and the Dawgs will pull away late as they typically do when their D finally wears the opponent out.

I just don't see this team losing a game they're not supposed to lose the remainder of this year. Too much talent, experience and preparation. I think there are 4 teams who can beat them. It's probably pretty easy for the knowledgeable fans on this board to name those teams.

I think Aja will be a bit fatigued and will wear down big time in the second half.
 
I think it'll be a great game. Mississippi State hasn't shown any signs that they are ripe for an upset, but something in my gut tells me it might happen. South Carolina isn't a great matchup for Mississippi State either since Wilson makes things really difficult on both ends for McCowan. Last game Vivians carried the team in the first half when Mississippi State couldn't get anything going. It was a close game through 3 quarters and I'm sure the crowd made a big difference. Neutral court today, and I'm guessing A'ja will be out for blood. I voted for Mississippi State, I think it'll be a great game though. All eyes will be on McCowan vs. Wilson.

Wow...2 fouls on McCowan early. Neither when Wilson was on the floor.
 
McCowan with two fouls is a huge advantage for So Carolina if she has to go to the bench for most of the 1st half.

Still, Harrigan looking better than any time I have seen her. I think this game will actually come down to the wire.
 
So this is the third straight game Miss St is behind after the first quarter. Interesting trend. Doesn't seem to bother them though. We'll see how it plays out today.

Miss St is not playing like they have for most of the Year. Looks like the pressure is getting to them. Still early and if they can keep the game close while McCowan is on the bench they should be okay.
 
Schaefer starting to cry up a storm on the sidelines already. Miss. St., just not very good without McCowan taking up space under the basket. Great defense on Vivians.
 
So far this is all about SC's supporting cast. Herbert Harrigan with 11 points in the first 13 minutes? That's gotta be a first.

McCowan on the bench with foul trouble is a major problem for Miss St.
