OT: Songs About Strong Moods and Emotions

.-.
James Brown's King Heroin is quite the incredible emotional hammer:

Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn
Remember how she said that we would meet again, some sunny day………..
Vera, Vera, ……. what has become of you……….
Does anybody else in here feel the way I do??????
Vera Lynn's other heart-tugging song is White Cliffs of Dover. You can imagine Londoners experiencing the Blitz while you listen to it.

I'll never forget the people I met
Braving those angry skies
I remember well as the shadows fell
The light of hope in their eyes...

Touching movie, storied song, and Dexter Gordon. Shakes me up every time. The tribute to Coleman Hawkins and the 1930s recording is another layer of emotion. And…Mr. McLaughlin.

PS- Yeah, the film print is backwards.

I don't think I would have noticed John McLaughlin if you hadn't pointed him out. I listened to his Mahavishnu Orchestra LPs about a thousand times when I was younger.

I've been waiting for this to be released to the public. It was just posted.
The mood is despair and hopelessness. Tissues may be needed.

Paulina Villarreal - Live performance of BREATHE at the Pepsi Center.

Song is in English and the audience interaction is in Spanish. The CC and Auto-Translate work but I'll paraphrase:
"I said I would never play this live because it is so personal to me. But there are 8000 of you here tonight to see us and I want to play it tonight. My voice is not good but I want to sing it anyway"

This Leslie Gore song brings back memories of the kids I grew up with. Comes from being from a small town where everyone knows everyone else. I'm a little young for the bobby sox crowd hanging out at the soda shop, but the theme is universal and applies to any time.

I often ache for the highway and lost loves and lost good times....beautiful song by Aztec 2 Step, circa 1972 or so:

I remembered you to the highway signs
The colored lights and the highway lines
I said hello to your friends so kind
And told them you were fine

Yes, yes, yes! Beat me to this one. Been a favorite for a LONG time.

Before my wife of 30 years past away she gave me a Yellow lab as a last gift, last week I had to put that puppy down. This song "That girl could sing, reminds me of that event. The first set of Lyrics tells the story.
She was a friend to me when I needed one, Wasn't for her, I don't know what I'd done She gave me back something that was missing in me She coulda turned out to be almost anyone Almost anyone With the possible exception of who I wanted her to be.
