For those who have yet to enjoy it… He improvises around the melody without ever playing it. Pretty special for an 85 year old performance!All Things Considered had a series, probablu around 2000, on the greatest recordings of the 20th century. One of those chosen was the Hawkins recording of Body and Soul. I’m not sure I was aware of it before that, but I sure have grown to love it.
