We have known that for a long time. He isn't the only one. There are a few people who are anxiously awaiting our first bad loss or first streak of losses under our new coach so they can say, "I told you so, should have been patient." And they will repeat the mantra when anyone criticizes the guy, which will happen because he is human. People criticized Calhoun too but never did they rally in large numbers for his head like we saw with Ollie. Same with Geno. The guy is great but not infallible. But the Ollie fans are just waiting for people to criticize Hurley so they can label those people whiners or complainers or pessimists or cynics or whatever.
I’m hopeful Hurley does well. Don’t want him to fail to make KO look better.
But if he struggles I have little doubt who the lead whiners will be.
There were multiple problems the past several seasons and not every problem was about KO.
If a guy can’t coach he’s gone. If a player can’t stay cool he’s gone. If a guy can’t hold his liquor he’s gone. If a child has a tantrum it’s disciplined. Bad behavior should never be approved.
There were many of us who wanted to see change but avoided expressing it to avoid validating whining dispositions. Losing seasons, losing by twenty or more points in many games, biatching after every play or every game are all bad looks.
Funny thing is some of the complainers calling out fans wanting to see Hurley fail were the same fans who never posted when the team under KO had a decent game. That’s the ultimate expression of wanting the team to fail to get the wish of replacing KO.
I felt the hand writing was on the wall and the AD was going to take the action it took. So put me on the outs for not joining the biatching group while we were waiting for things to happen.
