Good game so far. Impressed with MSU. They are well balanced. Do they have depth inside?
They bring in a 6'7"-ish center from the bench named Teaira McCowan. Maybe not the most refined basketball player from what I know, but a bit of a specimen in her own right.
She started. I was wondering about depth because it looks like the USC strategy is shoot from 3 feet and in. MSU 16-15 end of first.
MSU has 8 assists on 14 made baskets. I think they're one of the better passing teams I've seen this season.MSU's offense: three guards take turns dribbling, then someone either jacks up a shot or dribbles into the lane and jacks up a shot.
USC's offense: guards take turn dribbling, then someone either jacks up a shot or dribbles into the lane and feeds either Wilson or Coates.
Both-- high percentage of points scored off offensive rebounds of missed shots.
Not what I would call a lot of offense that shows coaching.
Doris Burke giving a little aside about why Miss. St. offense is much better this year. She said Vic Schaefer met with Geno for 90 minutes this summer with Geno to talk offense. When her colleague joked about Geno getting a stipend for this, Burke said he does it just to help a colleague. Pretty cool
