No surprise. He definitely was effective in spurts and deserves more playing time with a club that will give him a chance. Good luck Singare!
I thought there was a place for him this year in 2-4 minutes stretches but he just stopped being put in.No surprise. He definitely was effective in spurts and deserves more playing time with a club that will give him a chance. Good luck Singare!
Get a big PF who can replace AK and give us minutes at the 5 if needed.
No idea if he'll get an offer elsewhere to start, and he might be more 3/4 than 4/5 butYeah and one who can step out and shoot the 3.
I don’t know if he clicked with Hurley when it came to game time. It was one game can’t remember which one where he was talking as they went to timeout touchesand Hurley was in the same frame and I could swore the Hurley says stop your bitching directed at him
I think he’s a great kid and he’s gonna do great at whatever level he drops to.
I just hope that he has no ragrets...Not surprised really, I don’t think he was ever going to crack the rotation unfortunately. I thought he looked like he should eventually but c’est la vie. Hope he gets playing time wherever he lands.
Agreed. Maybe not walk on, but definitely developmental players that the staff is transparent with that they will not play for 2 years and will have to work their butts off to get in the rotation by year 3. Those spots will for players that have the right mentality. The plus side is these players will get top notch coaching for skills and personal development and be part of a winning culture. Call it the future coaches apprenticeship. So, as it is, in the future, looks like a team such as UConn will end up having a slate of five sure starters and 4 backups that will get a decent share of minutes at certain positions and the rest will be walk-ons to fill out a practice squad that will turnover every year or if lucky, two years. It's a damn shame.
Considering he didn't see the court much even when Johnson and Reed were both in foul trouble, I can see why he would have doubts about minutes next year at UConn if it wasn't more or less guaranteed.I thought he had an opportunity to play a lot more this year with EReibe being young and needing some seasoning. And of course, Tarris Reed's foul trouble.
Im taking his departure as a sign that the coaching staff had some other ideas about how he'd be used next year
If you have a couple of injuries you need more than walk ons after 5 and 4, ideally freshman scholarships. Then some walk ons inmho. So, as it is, in the future, looks like a team such as UConn will end up having a slate of five sure starters and 4 backups that will get a decent share of minutes at certain positions and the rest will be walk-ons to fill out a practice squad that will turnover every year or if lucky, two years. I hope you're right. Until they announce they're staying I'm worried that some teams will come after Ball and Reed with money.Reed isnt going anywhere. Stewie (officially), Reed and Solo are coming back. Cant imagine any of them portalling.
What a strange world collegiate sports has become.I hope you're right. Until they announce they're staying I'm worried that some teams will come after Ball and Reed with money.
Post/handleI do feel like we def need a dept big now. Another guy who may be a role player in a lower conference who wants to go into coaching some day. I do however feel good about the center position provided we have Reed and Reibe... just need a third big who can come in when needed due to injury or foul trouble. Really could use a phil nolan type
Between the portal and NIL cbb is the wild west right now. What a strange world collegiate sports has become.
Honestly, we have to think of this from the player's viewpoint. Singare may only have a couple years left in his playing career. If he wants to go chase playing time, I certainly do not blame him.The days are dwindling for the era of having 4 year program players. I don't like this, but completely understand it. Thanks Youssouf!
