Imagine you could pick any of the last 30 women (or dudes) you had a significant conversation with to marry and live with for the next four years, except the ones that were a 10/10 hotness who have no interest in you. It's also impossible to cheat on them unless you promise to go celibate for a whole year and you also have to live at their current house for the whole time. There are going to be pros/cons for each of them that may swing your decision, including appearance, personality, camaraderie, and then also the place where they live will have an impact. You've talked to some of your favorites for a while, but you've never lived with any of these people before either, so it's quite a scary proposition. Would you want to be stuck living and hating someone who you ultimately didn't end up getting along with?

Also there's random people following along with your progress on the decision and then especially life afterwards in a Truman Show-style situation.

No pressure at all. Why can't these kids make instant decisions?
 
If we lose another recruit I'm blaming Susan for turning UConn into a fun-free zone.
 
No recruit changes their mind in 1 day from UCONN to St. John's before announcing despite the fluid recruiting nonsense preached on here. He knows where he is going and is not fighting some internal struggle that some people say to make ourselves feel better about losing recruits.

All you have to do is look at that quote that I posted about what his father had to say about UCONN to see that it doesnt look good for us. Nobody's parents who want their son to attend a school says things like "The Thing About UCONN" and their "rebuilding situation".

Here's to hoping though and proving Chief is right again.

Not sure how we recover from this IF we lose out on this kid and/or TW. It seems we are losing more and more recruiting battles with programs that have no business being in the same conversation as us. St. John's? Creighton? Western Kentucky?
 
The only people saying UConn are the folks whose source is directly or indirectly UConn's Staff. For my sake I hope it's not another Warde in the Tropics moment.

I still think he already has a signed UConn LOI - did it officially get submitted IDK?

Is it exhausting to be so positive and negative at the same time?
 
The scariest part is if this is another whiff (which it seems like it's going to be) is the total disconnect between staff and players. The staff all 100% thinks Sid is committing here. If he's St. John's bound it's amazing how the staff keeps getting blindsided.

I think all the johnnies talk might just be a smokescreen, see it with football recruits all the time. Somebody knows their favorite school, they throw some rumors out there about a different school. Most recent case with Jackson Carman, heavy Ohio state lean, kid wants attention then says Clemson was his leader with OSU a close 1B. Been recruiting behind the scenes for OSU the whole time. Hopefully same case with Sid, with him eventually coming here.

if you believe Oz, he says the staff is under the impression that he's committing to UConn. If the staff is wrong on this then it will just confirm there are more problems with the program than appear on the surface.

lol. no. but the party scene fell off a cliff when Susan was hired and it never recovered.

Anyone else wondering how many hours after he commits to SJU it'll take for Blaney to be installed as the interim here?
 
Hopefully Chief & OZ are right about Wilson going to Uconn...

If not, hopefully Waters picks Uconn, hopefully we can get at least one or two more scholarship players who are decent...

You have no idea what the staff is thinking, the stupidity that you display on a daily basis is really something to marvel at.

Same friend who said Ollie was 100% confident Hamidou was coming here. People with sources here heard the same thing, OZ said he talked directly to the staff and they told him Sid is a done deal for us.

Something is going on here thats unusual. Not normally do you have people predicting locks on both sides. Im going to say the staff knows something the rest of us dont. They have to, if not........This Looks Really Bad
 
I was at the Yard Goats stadium last night. I give KO full credit for going there to support UConn athletics. The ballpark is great. And the food and drink, very good.
