None of the top 8 teams lost, but 11 of the 17 teams ranked #9-#25 lost to unranked or lower-ranked teams.
  • Who will replace #9 Maryland and #10 Oregon State in the top 10? #11 Texas, #12 Syracuse and #13 Gonzaga all lost to unranked teams. So does #14 Marquette jump 5 whole spots to #9? And does #15 South Carolina or #16 Kentucky move all the way up to #10?

  • Does #20 Tennessee drop out after its loss to Alabama? This will be unpopular here, but I have a feeling they're staying in. The problem is that #23 Minnesota, #24 DePaul and #25 Indiana all lost to unranked teams as well. It's not at all clear that there are enough viable candidates to replace all of them.

Tennessee, Minnesota, Depaul and Indiana will all fall out...replaced by Utah, Butler, Purdue and either Texas A&M or Missouri.

My guess is that Maryland stays #9, South Carolina will move to #10.

Minnesota, DePaul and Indiana fall out. Tennessee may hang on on at 25, though I think they should be out.

Maryland, Oregon State, Syracuse and Michigan State will probably drop a spot or two because of loses. Rutgers climbs.

Top 8 stays the same.

I think 9 and 10 hold, though I'd flip them as a double ot loss to a top 25 isn't so bad.
Tenn hold on at 24 ish.
Fla st Utah and tamu join.

Uconn should drop to #3.
Baylor wins over Kansas and West Virginia are more impressive than Uconn wins over Tulane and Temple.

Oregon State despite losing at home, lost to an under ranked ASU team (should be top 15) and should actuality move up 1 spot to #9.
Maryland lost at Michigan St and then won at home to a blah PSU team. To me, they continues to show they are over ranked and probably the 3rd or 4th best Big10 team. They won't fall much if at all but jeez they are not top12 material.
SC should continue its climb and Marquette as well. The Big10 teams should just form an Oligarchy over the 16-20 rankings with any of the teams in what ever order rotating each week (Rutgers, MD, Iowa, Mich State, Indiana).
While I think Texas and Tennessee are overrated, begrudgingly they belong in the top 25.

ASU and Rutgers are under-rated and should be closer to top 10 than they will be. The polls rarely show huge jumps or drops in weekly rankings as the voters want to justify their previous picks.
Here's my weekly ranking based on eye test, SoS and current cohesion:
1.ND
2.Baylor
3. UConn
4. Oregon
5. Stanford
6. Louisville
7. MSU
8. NC State
9. Oregon St
10. Syracuse
11. South Carolina
12. Arizona State
13. Marquette
14. Kentucky
15. Gonzaga
16. Rutgers
17. Maryland
18. Iowa
19. Texas
20. Texas A&M
21. Iowa State
22. Mizzou
23. FSU
24. Utah
25. Tennessee

Good list. Syracuse lost yesterday though. I think Marquette might actually be 10 this week.

I would actually have ASU ahead of OSU, because ASU's schedule has been more difficult than OSU's (and most every other team in NCAA), plus, ASU beat OSU on OSU's home floor.

He said it was HIS ranking.
Shades, as @vowelguy said -this was my list, not what I think the pollsters (who work on reputation vs. actual results) would do. I am allowed to live in my own world, right, however logical or illogical it might be?

He said it was HIS ranking.

I’m not so sure. In his analysis, he says “SC should continue its climb and Marquette as well.” To me, it sounds like he’s predicting.

DefenseBB YES- YES- YES. We all get to live in our own special world. Most of the time it is logical to us, as we live it. Enjoy! Life is too short and the WBB season too short to be concerned about any of the 2nd guessers out there. I enjoyed reading your logic and subsequent list. Do I agree? Who cares???????

I think that's only the 4th time in the last 31 seasons that Tennessee has been out of the rankings. VolNation is going to be fun when they find out.

Addressing some of the questions raised in the OP:

#21 Utah, #22 Florida State, #24 Texas A&M, and #25 Missouri join the top 25 after being unranked last week.

Tennessee, DePaul, Minnesota, and Indiana all drop out.

Oregon State rises to #9. Maryland drops to #11. Marquette up to #10. Kentucky up 1 to #15. South Carolina down 4 to #19

Someone who has tweeter please ask LaChina Robinson why she does not have FSU ranked? For the record this is the least experienced FSU team in years, and has been playing without a true point guard all season, so I do not know how much longer they will be ranked.
