You just know they read the boneyard and cal board to see what the feeling was here. If people like oz don't even know 100%, then I don't think any of these crystal ball people do.

If/when he commits, does this become the best class in UConn history?

No, but it's definitely notable. (And it's not finished quite yet.)

1996 - Richard Hamilton, Kevin Freeman, Michael LeBlanc, Sam Funches, Monquencio Hardnett, Jake Voskuhl and Souleymane Wane.
1992 - Donyell Marshall, Donny Marshall, Brian Fair, Kevin Ollie, Rudy Johnson, Nantambu Willingham, Rich Ashmeade and Jeff Calhoun
2000 - Taliek Brown, Caron Butler, Scott Hazleton, Johnnie Selvie, Robert Swain
2003 - Marcus Williams, Josh Boone, Charlie Villanueva, Ryan Thompson

Actually, just came across this 1991-1992 freshmen class preview in the VHS tapes I'm converting. This is a ridiculously large class, and good to hear about their rankings. Can't really find much about rankings from back in the day:

For a three person class, Rudy Gay, AJ Price, and Antonio Kellogg is a freaking monster class (2004). Gay and Price were both huge players for us. As was the 2012 class of Drummond, Daniels, and Boatright.

Also, 2006's class with Stanley Robinson, Jerome Dyson, and Hasheem Thabeet--matched with Curtis Kelly, Doug Wiggins, Mandeldove, and Eaves was also really good.

06 was gigantic; Robinson and Kelly were both 5 stars, and Dyson and Wiggins were ~top75 iirc. Then you had the project bigs, where we went a very big 1 for 3.

Thabeet was ranked 64th in the RSCI. He was definitely raw, but not as big a project rankings wise as some people make him out to be.

My, the turns these threads take.... I say we get to page 38 before the discussion is somehow routed back to Vance.

This thread makes me feel really old. Well I am really old, but when recruits in classes from 10 years and more are listed it brings home how much time has passed and how well our program has been doing for a long time.

Thanks for sharing! What a blast from the past.

As tcf posted, KO is exactly the same all these years later.

You're telling me; in 2006 I was still finishing 5th grade! And now, I'm an upperclassmen at this great school. I know it's probably nothing compared to when I'm older, but man. Time flies. I'd like to stop for a sec and just take it in. But I'll stop there. Don't want there to be another fleudy on the BY.

A few days ago the crystal ball 247sports CBSSports.com had Vance a 50% chance going to UCONN. Yesterday they had Vance a 75% chance going to UCONN. This morning that has since moved to 80%. I hope that they are correct and that the 80% turns to 100% on Friday!

And the 20% comes from 2 picks made in December 2014 and July 2015.

A word of advice: stop checking that thing daily. There are maybe two trustworthy "insiders" at that site.

(But I have a feeling they'll be correct on this one, lol.)

It's weird to think of Rudy and AJ having arrived as part of the same class. They never played together and were the defining player for two completely distinct eras (2005-2006 and 2007-2009).
