The local high school here that LBJ and King attended is St. Vincent St. Mary's.

That windbag Brain Winhorst went there too ... the only reason he has a job is LeBron selected him to be his interviewer.

I have not heard anything regarding King dropping UL.

I wonder if Pitino gave his black book to recruiting services after his scandal? (j/k but seriously ... I wonder).

These kids get more puss thrown at them than you can imagine. I doubt a kid who visits Florida or even a place like Villanova is going to be swayed by a three-way with a couple Kentucky prostitutes.

So true but even many of these women are looking to get paid. Its still profitable in their eyes.

Short term vs long term.

Makes one wonder how many babes hang on when the NBA dream fails.

No but their father might be! Wish my kid was 8 inches taller I would have directed him to The Cat Ranch in Louisville for a visit and some QT.

(had to expect this)

Keith Stevens, King’s AAU coach and a close associate of Louisville assistant Kenny Johnson, was hesitant Friday to discuss the situation at Louisville and how the investigation into allegations levied in ‘Breaking Cardinals Rules: Basketball and the escort queen,” might affect King’s commitment.

“I’m not talking about that. No comment on that,” Stevens said.

In a brief conversation, Stevens offered this about King’s thinking in the wake of the allegations about Louisville:

“Right now he’s just focused on his high school season, playing basketball and getting situated for college next year,” said Stevens.

Is King still planning to sign with Louisville during the early signing period?

“As of right now, yes,” Stevens said.

Yeah but that was twenty minutes ago! What about now?

King is a SF so naturally he probably wants to be a SG. And would you look at that! We have a guard spot open for next year, and we're not a program run by scumbags.

I smell something to obsessively follow...

I wonder if KO is dropping a call to VJ to see if he might have a change of heart.

At most top schools there is really two parts to an "official" visit - the truly official part - and then the time with the player hosts - that's when stuff happens. Nobody is truly pure let's not fool ourselves. True, Louisville took it to another level paying prostitutes.

This wasn't some players free lancing and taking recruits to an off campus strip club.

VJ's commitment might depend on how indebted his family is to Louisville assistant Kenny Johnson. The minute after VJ moved from Ohio to VA and enrolled at Paul VI High School and joined Team Takeover (AAU) the recruiting "experts" predicted he'd go to Louisville. I guess Johnson's previous coaching jobs at both basketball programs (PVI/Takeover) lead to that assumption. That said, VJ had no direct association on the basketball court with Johnson. He was never coached by him. Johnson was already at Louisville when VJ joined PVI and Takeover. Why does he have so much loyalty to a guy he was never coached by? If VJ de-commits will his parents suddenly start having problems at their brand new jobs? Will there be a sudden rent increase on their brand new condo? Will his little sister be able to return to PVI? Lots of questions here.

Obviously this is all conjecture. I have no inside info. For all I know his mom and/or dad got a great job in VA on their own merits and just coincidently enrolled their son into PVI,Takeover and Louisville. Common sense says there's a lot more behind the scene information, that we don't know, about this recruitment.

All assumptions from the Louisville debacle aside...

Is King really a SG prospect more so than a SF? Cause if not, it would probably be logjam at SF with Larrier and now Jackson on board.

King is a 6'7" small forward.

It would seem that we're pretty well set there.

If you want to know what it would take to persuade a Florida recruit, we could ask Aaron H!

Remarkable that all of this took place in a dorm named after the brother in law Pitino lost on 9/11 - quite a tribute from slick rick

Height has no bearing on where you play, skill does. Paul George is a 6-9 SG and King looks to have the skills. Also Hamilton is 6'7" SG. I'll take King in a heartbeat.

Really? I get your point but let's calm down with the hyperbole.

With Jackson on board, King has lost his aura. Jackson wanted to be a Husky and will travel 3k miles to get here. I wish VJ well where ever he lands, I'm certain it won't be Louisville.

That's the NBA. A 6'9 shooting guard in college would be silly. Heck, I don't even want Hamilton as our two guard.
