Yeah, it's not looking good for us. Still, we're 2 deep at every position next season.

Losing Stone to Maryland and now Jackson to either Oregon or Maryland, sounds like we need to step up our shoe/apparel game.

Doubt it goes into the weekend. Looking favorable for good guys. If no word by Saturday.....could be getting muddy. Read in as you will, but like direction it is moving.
Looks like you hit the nail on the head. So we were stuck in the middle of two shoe schools and are going to lose out.

Still not a great sign, but looking over the recent picks a few people picked Bolden to Kentucky right before he went to Duke. So I'm not losing hope yet

With proven players we are not even close to 2 deep at every position. Jackson would step into monster playing time right away.

Top tos writer posted that he will most likely pick Maryland today. Wild. Joy of following recruiting

Hearing lots of Maryland chatter for @Rivals 4-star forward.

Doesn't look good! :(

The fun and roller coaster the following recruiting. Today is the day crystal ball has any real meaning

I guess that's why they say everything related to recruiting should be written in pencil.

Well Maryland he gets to play in the Big Ten and gets a lot of laying time since they lost 4 starters. They will still be a borderline tourney team though.

So was it the conference or the fact it is a shoe school and everything that comes with it. Level playing field I would think Ollie lands this kid over the other coaches

Personally I don't see the draw of Maryland and Turgeon. Granted, the B1G is the main selling point, but don't think the program under MT has achieved all that much, either as a college team or in terms of individual skill development in prepping for the league.

For a second i thought maybe you meant Louisville. then i realized it was a typo

I wonder if Trimble coming back played into the decision. Can't imagine having an elite PG hurts.

I really want us to land this kid for obvious reasons. I want two Jackson's on the team next year. This way we can recruit three other Jackson's next year and then put on the floor our Jackson 5. KO must make this happen. :-)

Damn. I'd heard Maryland from an inside source as early as Sunday, but didn't want to believe it. This one hurts, I really would've liked him on next year's team. But, that's recruiting. 'Tis a fickle b!tch.

If true then oh well. J-Jax would have been more of a luxury than a true necessity.

Look at our roster compared to UMD's...Jackson is more of a "must" add for them than us or Oregon

Disappointing if true, as I think JJ could have made this team special. While we have a few options at the 4, none is really a perfect fit for KO's system and all have some issues. Will truly be a power forward by committee type approach. I don't expect us to start with this, but I could see us using a small ball lineup of Gilbert-Adams-Purvis-Larrier-Brimah quite a bit.

I heard the same from a "very knowledgeable Terp" on Monday morning, but I thought he was blowing smoke. Really believed we just had to beat Oregon. Grrrr....

This would be a big loss. People keep saying we are deep at the 4, we really aren't. If Juwan Durham were 100%, we'd be deep at the 4 and JJ would have been icing on an already really nice cake. In this case, he may have started for us.
But as people have said recruiting is fickle.

Especially with Brimah now back, I am hardly sure JJ would have started for us. We can play Facey, an improved Enoch, Diarra, or even Terry Larrier if we go small at the 4. Which in part is probably why he is going to Maryland. Its the one school where he had a clear path to play valuable minutes day 1.

This is far from a big loss, relax. We may not have what we want at the 4 but we still have options. Facey, Diarra, Larrier /Jackson when we go small, Durham if he doesn't redshirt even if not 100% can come in and give minutes. Who knows maybe Enoch with a big lineup.
