Tarris blocked Hines twice in a row but they called the foul on AK with one second left on the shot clock for reaching in. AK lightly put his hand on the ball. It was a ridiculous call to end a great defensive possession.
And even with the slow mo replay you couldn't even see if Alex even had the ball or the hand / arm, and the ref that called it was behind the play where you really couldn't see it at all

Yes, he does, that's who he is. And it's how he is a two time national champion
Maybe you are right. If he was more laid back, he might not have the drive to excellence. That is what perfectionists tell themselves. "I need to be neurotic to stay vigilant and avoid failure." But it is a hard way to live. Who really knows whether it is truly the key to his success or not. I get the pragmatic idea that if it is not broke don't fix it, but there is more to life than winning basketball games. And if he burns out over it, it might not be the best strategy long term, even from a strictly basketball perspective.

Burn Out is an overrated problem. Get some sleep, exercise a little bit, eat some decent food, take a day off every so often and get back to work!!

Did you listen to the way Hurley talked about the 24-25 season? He was teetering on the edge of burn out for sure. I think he is learning to do some of those things you suggest, but as DRBackup said, "that's who he is." It will continue to be a problem to monitor. Just looking out for our guy. Need him here long term.
