Seton Hall Post Game Thread

Dan had a very crappy post game interview with Andy Katz, Andy didn’t deserve that arrogant comeback on what seemed like a good question. Please stop with “…. 4 games against SH doesn’t define my legacy…” Bull crap. Was disappointed in that, felt bad for Katz!
Not sure what about that question triggered Danny but it was an awful look. Just say even championship teams lost here, shows you how tough it is to play here and why we're so proud of the win tonight. Done.

The first four minutes of the game was the most insane whistle swallowing I’ve ever seen. Reed got HAMMERED several times on a single possession and Reibe was legitimately tackled and it was called a jump ball.

But I guess that’s allowed when you’re a “physical team”. I hope all the geezers who enjoy “Old School Big East Basketball”, because games like these are toxic to any CBB fan under 65.

I'll never stop bringing it up- we were saying the exact same thing about andre Jackson at this time of year in '23.

plus, Solo was one of our best scorers beginning 1/4 of the year. I'm still with him
Me too. But he has become a terrible 3 point shooter. I know shooters need to shoot their way out of slumps but I think we are at the point where he should take less 3-point shots. 1-7 is not helping.

I’ve never seen a more negative fan base of a 17-1 team. We’ve lost the plot.
Most of the negativity is not about UConn, it's about the bozo BE / Refs that allow constant grabbing & holding on D so there is zero chance to create offensive. SH does what they're allowed to do by the BE, UConn just plays great basketball when they're allowed to. Great road win our guys gutted out just not a great watch.

Good news: it's a win

Bad news: post game coach (and other) interviews ... trying too hard to set/control a narrative much?
Weird comment.

Hurley was understandably emotional given his history at Seton Hall. Andy Katz didn’t just come out and ask what he wanted to ask. Was Hurley maybe a little cringey? Sure. Was it offensive? Absolutely not.

Not sure what narrative you’re referencing, but if you’re talking about both Hurley and Reed expressing personal beliefs in the post-game, get a grip. Athletes have been doing this forever. It’s not like they’re secretly conspiring to push an agenda.

We won, nobody said anything offensive, it’s okay to say good game and move on

Loved Hurley' s response about losing at Seton Jall. paraphrasing My legacy is not determined by one game a year against - "WE ARE UCONN"

With 5 turnovers. While also staring like he's a fan at loose balls in his face. He dribbled basically right to the defender in front of him on one possession. These are basic things he can't execute on.

Sure you stick with him to an extent, but I really hope most people stop getting on me for having pointed out his "challenges". They're mainly upstairs (hard to teach).

We shot 18% from 3 point range and just beat a Top 25 team on the road while playing 5 on 8. I’m not going to go on and on about the officiating but if you watched the 2nd half and didn’t come away thinking they were trying to steal that game from us I don’t know what you were watching. Big East has allowed teams for years to toss us around like rag dolls and simultaneously calling us for touch fouls. This game was exhibit A

It's the 20th anniversary of the 2006 season and that is what this team is reminding me with each game. The talent is obviously there but just way too on and off to fully trust. Smith is a huge problem as the backup PG and Solo is a liability. Some of there Solo 3's need to start going to Silas. I trust him much more right now to make them. Team looks better with Stewart on the court.

Can we talk about what a little b Shaheen was that game? Like dude, your team committed a million fouls what in the world are you complaining about. You should be thanking the refs

Then he got was in his little defensive stance on the court minutes after an all-time crash out - such a dweeb

It was a fair question to ask him about his 4 game losing streak at the Rock. I thought Danny sounded defensive. Andy genuflected calling him a champion. I love Danny but I see why others don't.
He said “Youve been able to win everywhere, but you have not been able to win here, until tonight, to snap a 4-game losing streak”

Technically incorrect. Was Hurley defensive? Sure. But kind of a boneheaded way to ask the question. Just say “Youve lost 4 in a row in this building. What was different tonight?”

Again they have a better record than ‘23 or ‘24 did at this point.

I’m not saying where they’re going to end up but this whole “this team doesn’t have what it takes” stuff is really bizarre.

He also said you've won two championships in four seasons. Nope, it's two in three seasons Andy. Hurley is going for three in four seasons.

Except that isn’t was Andy Katz said. Andy Katz was factually incorrect

A rock fight in New Jersey. It is good to see the Huskies win these gritty type games. Every basket Karaban scored was a workman type basket, nothing easy. Reed was a beast. What a block by Mullins. Demary always seems in control. Just glad to get out of Jersey with the win.

Reed was a Beast, except for his 8 missed FTs

I hate to play both sides here… but…

At first I thought Danny sounded not only defensive but a bit flakey…

But then I thought about how snarky the question was and how cr@ppy ESPN has been to UConn.

I call it even…. Katz and Hurley both had a part in that awkward interview.
