SEC Tournament Bracket

What rule book are you familiar with? It was a clear forearm push, an offensive foul 100% of the time.
Hollingshead was moving into her when contact was made, got her with the body as Peck noted.

Even if it was, LSU didn't deserve to win that game. They blew a 17 point lead. Got the halftime lead then packed it in. Got out hustled and out toughed in every possible way the 2nd half.

The previous day LSU faced a Georgia team which has a pretty dang tough matchup zone defense. They moved off the ball, screened the zone, cut and spaced the ball out exceptionally well. Tonight, LSU's zone offense was dribble the shot clock out, zero movement off the ball and jack up a bad contested shot. They may have been fatigued but effort was pretty embarrassing. Its one thing to be tired but you make a effort, but the effort was not there.

In a way I'm happy they lost, LSU never deserved the one seed anyway but they needed another slap back into reality. LSU while a good team has done this all year. Get big leads then go into coast mode and has let almost every team back into a game. Against a team like TN or a future NCAAT opponent, you can't do that. If you do.... then you are looking at a possible early exit.

Agree with this. Tennessee deserved it over LSU based on the effort. Probably for the best LSU didn't get a 1 seed. Quite frankly, they never looked like a #1 seed nor do I think they would've deserved it had they won tonight. Fortunately for LSU, everyone after SC has looked like a hot mess in recent weeks so I think the Final Four is achievable for any top 4 seed this year (outside of whoever lands in SC's regional)

It doesn’t matter if she’s moving. The foul was on a forearm pushoff\hook. It wasn’t a charge call.Peck per usual is clueless.

LSU is just way too thin depth wise and they are inconsistent this year. There is way too much pressure for 1-5 to be lights out every night. If they get to a sweet 16, I would be thrilled and call it a year. Reese, Flaujae, Morris and Ladazhia are solid but there is a giant black hole in the off guard spot and the bench is a dramatic drop off. The loss of 3 scholarship players at the beginning of the season has shown its ugly head at times. I think basically every team in the country's bench has outscored LSU's the entire year.

Also Mulkey needs to probably shut up about her thoughts on conference tournaments ever again. Idk if she was this open about it at Baylor but while she is doing great things in BR, I'm over her nonsense with this specific topic. I can't imagine how her own team can take it seriously when she doesn't herself. Her teams are 100% reflection of her.

Yeah losing drops us a few notches. Unfortunately regions for the team we have makes a huge difference. Some 7 or 10th or the 3rd seed. Or 6th if an upset happens. Could give us fits.

But it does matter if Hollingshead isn't in legal guarding position and commits the foul before Reese makes the hook. At any rate, this is getting trivial and derailing the thread so the last thing I'll say on it is agree to disagree.

I'm not even positive she would've hit both free throws anyway

LSU had this coming. Not enough consistent shooting and they have had a tendency to lose focus at the wrong time. Having said that...what Reese was called for (arm extension) is technically a foul, but players like Caitlin Clark make a living off of it...with more force behind it.

Reese makes a living off it too. She almost never gets called for it. The one time she was called for it was in the SC game when she pushed Saxton out of bounds to attempt a layup. Their games could look a lot different if it was routinely called.

I know that my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me. She did it a few times last night. On one play in which she scored, she cleared the defensive player and shuffled her feet. As they say, the refs can’t call every foul.

Tennessee's post-game celebration was really something. Mocking Reese (licking their fingers), taking selfies on the court (how did they get phones out there so quickly?). That was a whole lot of nonsense for a team that has accomplished very little so far this season.

Let them have their moment. They've endured a hard schedule and had to see that clip of Reese gloating over them for weeks all over social media and on ESPN. They should be able to celebrate a top 4 win in the most important part of the season. It's much preferable they do it after the game than during it.

As a LSU fan who can't stand Reese's antics, I say go for it. She does it to herself. Don't want anything dished back out, maybe don't do it?

But in general I despise those type of antics all around. I will call it out if its my team or another team.

I'm appreciate of what Reese has done to grow LSU in her short time here. In the long run LSU may be better off culture wise once all that trash talking and ego's tone down after a couple particular players leave....

I get your point but I'm conflicted. I'm not a fan but I also get it at the same time.
There's something personal between these teams that brings out the pettiness.

Reese does it, some say she's being passionate and let her be who she is. Obviously Tennessee took her antics personally and let out how they felt after the game.

Is it right? To me, who's a tad old school, no. At the same time if one can do it while being celebrated and defended on social media for being her, I have a hard time saying that Tennessee can't have their moment.

In the end, this isn't how most players act. We need to remember there are a lot of great players who don't celebrate this way and this is a small subset of the culture.

On the play in question. Refs missed the travel first. Yes Reese extended the arm a foul.

Considering their body of work, can you blame them? What's that saying? To the victors go the selfies! :)

Last night was my first post in sometime. I haven't posted after every win.
Understandable considering the season they've had. A far cry from your "39-0?" post back in October.

They seem to be playing better now for sure.

It was a tough schedule. It's not how you start but how you finish.
