Okay. That’s over. Slightly exited to see whether Tennessee or LSU will be our opponent tomorrow.

My enthusiasm is somewhat dampened by the fact that we have a baseball game thirty mile away at Clem’s Son. Hawk spit !
Not tomorrow. Rubber game of the series will be in Cola.

Kim should be embarrassed by that coaching performance.

She wasted an entire quarter of throw it to Reese only and forgot she had a team with 4 other players on the court. Also made zero adjustments on defense.

I get you don't take the conference tournament seriously but no need to embarrass yourself with that pitiful effort two years in a row of just not doing your job because you don't think its important.

Reese should put more effort on basketball not the others ...

Really happy for Tennessee. They've endured a lot between losing Tamari Key and Marta Suarez, plus starting out the season poorly and coming so close in many hard fought losses. Glad to see them pull this off. Rickea Jackson is a really really good player. If she can avoid off court issues I think she'll be a very good pro with her ability to score and get to the basket.

Horston as well. Kea looks more pro ready. But Horston is definitely a sight to see as well.

Wow! Did they really waited to call that offensive foul on Reese near the end of the game? Don’t they know that it’s her patent move? They should have called that in the first half….of the season.
I was rooting for Tennessee but thought it was a pretty blatant foul on Hollingshead.

Even if it was, LSU didn't deserve to win that game. They blew a 17 point lead. Got the halftime lead then packed it in. Got out hustled and out toughed in every possible way the 2nd half.

The previous day LSU faced a Georgia team which has a pretty dang tough matchup zone defense. They moved off the ball, screened the zone, cut and spaced the ball out exceptionally well. Tonight, LSU's zone offense was dribble the shot clock out, zero movement off the ball and jack up a bad contested shot. They may have been fatigued but effort was pretty embarrassing. Its one thing to be tired but you make a effort, but the effort was not there.

In a way I'm happy they lost, LSU never deserved the one seed anyway but they needed another slap back into reality. LSU while a good team has done this all year. Get big leads then go into coast mode and has let almost every team back into a game. Against a team like TN or a future NCAAT opponent, you can't do that. If you do.... then you are looking at a possible early exit.

What rule book are you familiar with? It was a clear forearm push, an offensive foul 100% of the time.
Hollingshead was moving into her when contact was made, got her with the body as Peck noted.

Agree with this. Tennessee deserved it over LSU based on the effort. Probably for the best LSU didn't get a 1 seed. Quite frankly, they never looked like a #1 seed nor do I think they would've deserved it had they won tonight. Fortunately for LSU, everyone after SC has looked like a hot mess in recent weeks so I think the Final Four is achievable for any top 4 seed this year (outside of whoever lands in SC's regional)

It doesn’t matter if she’s moving. The foul was on a forearm pushoff\hook. It wasn’t a charge call.Peck per usual is clueless.

LSU is just way too thin depth wise and they are inconsistent this year. There is way too much pressure for 1-5 to be lights out every night. If they get to a sweet 16, I would be thrilled and call it a year. Reese, Flaujae, Morris and Ladazhia are solid but there is a giant black hole in the off guard spot and the bench is a dramatic drop off. The loss of 3 scholarship players at the beginning of the season has shown its ugly head at times. I think basically every team in the country's bench has outscored LSU's the entire year.

Also Mulkey needs to probably shut up about her thoughts on conference tournaments ever again. Idk if she was this open about it at Baylor but while she is doing great things in BR, I'm over her nonsense with this specific topic. I can't imagine how her own team can take it seriously when she doesn't herself. Her teams are 100% reflection of her.

Yeah losing drops us a few notches. Unfortunately regions for the team we have makes a huge difference. Some 7 or 10th or the 3rd seed. Or 6th if an upset happens. Could give us fits.

But it does matter if Hollingshead isn't in legal guarding position and commits the foul before Reese makes the hook. At any rate, this is getting trivial and derailing the thread so the last thing I'll say on it is agree to disagree.

I'm not even positive she would've hit both free throws anyway

LSU had this coming. Not enough consistent shooting and they have had a tendency to lose focus at the wrong time. Having said that...what Reese was called for (arm extension) is technically a foul, but players like Caitlin Clark make a living off of it...with more force behind it.

Reese makes a living off it too. She almost never gets called for it. The one time she was called for it was in the SC game when she pushed Saxton out of bounds to attempt a layup. Their games could look a lot different if it was routinely called.
