I think a first day loss to Auburn eliminates Georgia.Which teams have something big at stake? This is what I got:
South Carolina - No tourney stakes. They're locked into a 1 seed no matter what happens, including a loss in their first game. There are just reputational stakes and the revenge from last season's tournament finals loss.
LSU - They could move to a 1 seed if they are tournament champs.
Tennessee - A good tournament showing could move them into a top 16 NCAA tournament team. They would probably need to make it to the finals to make that happen but a tournament win would probably guarantee them as a top 16 host team.
Ole Miss, Miss State, Alabama and Georgia - A good or bad showing could affect NCAA tournament seeding. They should make the NCAA tournament no matter what happens.
Arkansas - Must at a minimum beat Missouri and South Carolina to be back in NCAA tournament conversation. A loss to either team will probably end their season. They probably need to make the finals to unquestionably be considered NCAA tournament worthy.
Missouri, Auburn, Florida, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Texas A&M - Must win the tournament to get the autobid or their season ends.
It just means more
I didn't watch the game but if I was a betting man, I would bet that a few ejections were due to players leaving the bench.Did 8 people really deserve to be ejected for that?

I'll be at all of our games.Any Posters on here gonna visit Greenville, Part 1 ?
Let's see if Arkansas can do better than losing 74-17 on the glass.South Carolina will be facing Arkansas tomorrow. I think Arkansas is a more favorable matchup for USC than Mizzou so that is what I was hoping for. I expect a game with a wide rebound margin...
Quad 3 loss going into the tournament. Yikes. Creme has them safely in but I could see that putting MSU squarely on the bubble.Mississippi St.? Not the time of year to be taking a loss like that.
Tennessee/LSU round 2 in the semis is a really intriguing matchup. Tennessee has played a brutal schedule and come up short against all of their strong opponents (sometimes just a hair short) but they've largely dominated weaker foes all year. LSU has played 1 ranked team all year and has waltzed through their schedule. I think Tennessee could pull off the win--they're battle tested and it'd be on a neutral court with nothing to lose for the Vols, where LSU needs the win to hold their spot as a top 2 seed.
That will keep them out of the NCAAT.Mississippi St.? Not the time of year to be taking a loss like that.
I haven't looked at the bracket projections or how soft the bubble is, so I don't know if that will knock them out or not. But it's hard to understand how a team can come out and lose a game like that when it seems like they might have a lot on the line. That will keep them out of the NCAAT.
I just saw the score What happened??Mississippi St.? Not the time of year to be taking a loss like that.
