seat selection process

I know why this happened. Talked to my rep at the beginning of the week. Lots of donors who were sitting behind the basket moved up to center court in the upper deck for both Gampel and XL.

it shows. UGH.

to be honest we were hoping for another small upgrade (happens every year) but I would have been happy with same seats.

Yes, renewed long before the deadline. Our selection time is in about an hour - I've logged in and our seats from last year are already marked as gone and we have to move back 4 rows to stay in this section. We had hoped to either get the same seats or move up a row or two (which always happened with the old system). It's BS. UConn, this is why people scrap the idea of season tickets and just cherry pick games on the open market. You are no longer selling a premium product, you cannot SCREW your fans like this.

You appear to be an outlier . . .

Which is further proof that the system works. Before, The athletic department made assumptions about which seats were better that did not reflect the believfs of a majority of the fans. I was frustrated with those assumptions on multiple occasions.

I can appreciate that, but they should not be bumping long-time ST holders in the process.

I had that exact conversation with my peeps todays about whether we would take lower level toward the end zone or upper level mid court. Will be interested to see what is left on Monday morning

28th here. I must be a cheap turd haha. Forgot to order until pretty late too

So they should have continued to screw over other long term season ticket holders, who appear to have donated more or had tickets for longer?

they should have infilled around existing seats. Outlier or not, you're going to start hearing more and more stories like mine. No worries, when they're drawing the way they draw, single game tickets are easy to get and probably cheaper long run than this ST bs.

Edit: Ok, made my selection. The actual selection website is easy to use, good job on that. AD Dave will be getting a letter about this though, I'm very unhappy.

Hey man, you can think that the new system is better AND understand why this guy is upset

You're obviously frustrated, I would be too. But I think you can understand that certain people who used to be forced baseline lower bowl, which were considered "better" seats but actually suck, would move to sideline. This will make some people unhappy when they are displaced higher, unfortunately.

Uconn is in the money making business. People who donate more go first and get better seats. It's the nature of the beast.

Personally, my favorite seats are upper bowl, fourth or fifth row. I like to see the nuances of offensive and defensive sets.

Celts courtside wasn't bad that one time though ;)

they should have done the seat selection like Football. That was a much better system. I suspect you'll start hearing more and more stories like mine as the selection process drags on and people log-in.

also, yes I understand both sides of the story - just that my side takes personal precedence ;)

Hockey ST selection was the same as football.

Renewed by 7/31 and my seat was locked in and kept my same seat since 1st yr(14-15)

Had opportunity today to change/upgrade. I looked around, but kept my old one.

Selection times based on pt system prior to this new system going on this yr. so huge donors chose your seat/better areas that ticket office was choosing for you previously

Sorry to hear about what happened to you, but you already wanted to be in upper bowl. It's not like they kicked you out of lower bowl.

I got better seats, very happy with system.

Liked the system. Very small suggestion-I wish the seat views were more specific. The views are big section views and there are obviously big difference in views within a section. Not a big deal though. I believe that you can get a real time update as to available seats by signing on if you have not selected yet.

I can appreciate your being upset, but I have been a season ticket holder since 1976 and have donated lots of $ and for the longest time they had me in the 200's sections towards the corners about 2/3 way up in Gampel and XL. With this new system, I was finally able to get the seats I should have been getting for the last 20 years, but haven't been getting. I'm happy with the new system. It's easy to understand: Donate money and stay or become a long time season ticket holder (fan).

Grabbed my tickets this morning. Love the new process. Got two in Lower level of Gampel which I was never able to get before. And got four in lower level of XL which I have had but closer to mid court. Last few years they stuck me in end zone but lower down. I'd rather be a little higher up but closer to mid court. Thanks AD Dave!!!

How many seats were left in the lower level at Gampel?

I selected my 9 tickets at XL today. We moved down 2 rows in the 200's(like 5 rows up) We like our seats between the baskets so I am satisfied. I like the new system. It's nice to have options

The new system is more democratic. BTW, my old seats were taken by the time I was logged in. Very odd, no other seats in the area were taken. Didn't matter, we were looking for a change anyway.

Still tons of decent seats left in the 200s. I really don't care where i sit as long as it's sideline.

Has anyone used their phone when making their seat choices? I pick Friday morning and may be on the road. Wanted to make sure I can still pick from my phone.

I was away and picked by phone. Very helpful gentleman was good at describing my options. If you had a seating chart in front of you if would make it easier

This might be the case for me as well. Do you just call the ticket office before your slotted time or is there a specific number you use?

I picked my tickets on Monday. As I purchased six seats for the men and five seats for the women at the XL, the seat selection portal was limiting me to four tickets in the 100 Sections because of built in limits based upon donation and/or cumulative points. Anyway, as I was holding four seats for each I called the athletic ticket office and asked how I could get the single and two seats next to the seats I was holding.

The purpose of my post is to tell you how fantastic they were in the athletic ticket office. I called expecting to hear about "rules", etc., instead the first gentlemen I spoke to asked that I speak to his manager. When I spoke to his manager, he knew in advance how many years I have been buying season tickets for basketball (30+) and knew that I purchase football as well. (I also told him that I buy hockey through a friend.) He proceeded to assist me on his end to enable me get my five and six seats in the XL in the 100 sections. Kudos to the UConn Athletic Ticket Office for going above and beyond.
