Wow, 22 teams? I would not have thought that many. Back in the real old days schools had either a real good men's team or a real good women's team but usually not both. I attribute that to the growth of the women's sport over the years.

I will say this, those SEC schools that are listed, their fans travel in large numbers....I expect UCONN to do the same.

I know this is a basketball site but in football, Bama, Carolina, and Tennessee fans can take over a stadium depending on how well the teams are doing. Carolina's girl's fans have taken over some smaller venues of the ACC when playing those teams in their venue.

I hope we take over Albany...that is a haul for us but I believe the faithful will show up...

The men play 4 games in “neutral” Brooklyn, not at Gampel
I forgot that the Men's went to mostly "neutral" sites in their tournament. I like it that the top 16 are awarded with basically two home games before traveling. Kind of like rewarding them for their achievements.

It’s cheaper for the NCAA, too

All three Big East schools are on the list and the SEC is very well represented.

A sorted listing of these teams according to the sum of their WBB & MBB seedings (I did this quickly and mostly from memory, so let me know if any errors):

4 - UConn (3+1)
7 - S Carolina (1+6)
8 - Texas (1+7), Baylor (5+3), Tennessee (6+2)
9 - Gonzaga (4+5), Iowa St (7+2), N Carolina (8+1)
10 - Creighton (7+3)
11 - Duke (7+4)
12 - Kansas (8+4), Alabama (8+4), Marquette (10+2)
13 - Arizona (11+2)
14 - NC St (3+11), Nebraska (6+8)
15 - Colorado (5+10), Auburn (11+4)
18 - Michigan St (9+9)
20 - Texas A&M (11+9)
22 - Drake (12+10)
27 - S Dakota St (12+15)

None closer than from North Carolina to the south and from Michigan to the west. By my count that covers 15 states.

Whether at Barclays or MSG, there is nothing more fun (for me) than college basketball in NYC. My mom had old programs from CCNY, Manhattan, etc. from games she attended at the old MSG in the 40s.

Scratch South Carolina from the list. Their men’s team lost to Oregon.

Drake is also eliminated.

Might be able to get through Friday's Mens games without any school being eliminated.

Down to 9 by my count: Alabama, Baylor, Connecticut, Creighton, Duke, Gonzaga, Iowa State, North Carolina State, and Tennessee.

Tennessee women play NC State women tomorrow at 4 p.m., - one stays & one goes by 6 pm-ish tomorrow

Just a reminder - this is the UConn side of the women’s board, not the neutral one
