Yeah UConnRock posted above that we came in 2nd to Rutty for Giacone. More than the kids though...P HAS to make a call to Jeff Hafley if this is true! That would be a HUGE hire for us! That guy is one of the BEST recruiters in the business (he is from Montvale NJ in Bergen County...DIRECT correlation to Rutty's improved haul in NJ this year)!

Depends on your definition of irrelevancy I suppose. Maybe they're irrelevant now, and are on a crash course with pitifully awful again? But can one argue that by being so awful they'd be relevantly awful?
 
Their boards on the TOS's remind of all the posts after Edsall left. Unless Pernetti gives Cignetti the job permanently..that staff will be gone by this time next year.
 
This is going to be a train wreck for Rutgers recruiting. Time to bust out the popcorn. :>)

No edsall left after he accomplished something, schiano just left, always the opportunist.

I agree with you FDNY. You may recall that Schiano was NOT doing great recruiting in the Bergen County area. Schiano had even had a falling out with the HC at Don Bosco and hadn't been getting any of their kids for the last several years. Then when the Pitt staff blew up with Wanny being fired, GS grabbed Hafley. Things turned around almost instantly and the Don Bosco pipeline magically reopened. Imagine what could happen here if we were able to get him!!

Linked is an article about Hafley PRIOR to him joining Rutgers. Seems the author may have underestimated Hafley's impact.

If Schiano is gone it's time to start working the phones and try to swipe some of their recruits if we have room.
 
Let's hope that recruiting class just falls apart. PP and the staff have to feel like it's Christmas morning right now.

His Wikipedia page has been updated to head coach of Tampa bay buccaneers, and we all know, if it's on wiki, it's official.
 
Okay, the Tampa Bay thing where you're trying to type T-ampa Bay instead? It's like the singing mounted-fish thingy: funny as heck for about 15 minutes, then you wanna smash it to pieces.

How the heck is Greg Schiano the best candidate for this job? A guy who never won a Big East title. A guy who schedules three cupcake games per year. This is a major head scratcher. Was Rich Kotite not available?
