Saturday Sweet 16 games

Agree with Blair that they need to get to the 2nd half. Know that ND is going to make a run in Q3. If they're up 5+ at half, the ND run will kill. But if it's tight ... Aggies need to finish strong this 1st half.
 
Carter is causing havoc but she looks gassed. Maybe it's just the way she always carries herself?
 
I am super impressed with TAMU and with Blair in that 1st half. Never count out the Silver Fox!

Absolutely horrible defense by ND in the first half. Have to pick it up in the 2nd half on the defensive end in order to win.
 
Great game. I hope the refs will let it stay that way but I doubt it.
 
Once again, Notre Dame showing its tremendous underachievement. With one of the best rosters ever seen, they're unable to dominate, struggling and complaining to the refs. Muffet will never be an alpha coach, only good when she's yapping at someone's heels.

Making it up? Mabrey should have 3 fouls, not 1.
 
I don't see A&M sticking with Notre Dame in the 2nd half as long as ND continues to feed Shepard/Turner. Arike definitely let Carter get into her head midway through and she went on a streak of taking bad selfish shots before Muffet took her out.

Just checked in. ND and TAMU tied 42 at the half. Would not have expected that and I doubt it will continue to the end but nice to see a bit of sweat on the ND side.

Seems a little extreme....A&M isn't a walkover team.. ND's defense was not good and there were a couple of stretches where Ogunbowale was caught yapping to the refs instead of hustling back but Muffet quickly pulled her before Arike came back focused and finished the half strong with a couple of baskets and and assist. Overall a fun first half to watch.

Just caught the last 2 minutes of Q2 when Mabrey made a three and Arike made 2 mid rangers. They are getting their game in order. :(

I agree. I'm amazed A&M was able to put so many points on the board in the 1st half to stay with ND. Hard to see that lasting through 2 more quarters.

Eh, Mississippi State didn't struggle this much with A&M, and that was in College Station. No way that MSU is as good as ND this year.

If a male coach did the elephant song with his grandson, it would go viral in a minute! Kim Mulkey is a story because she can come across as a cartoon coach on the sidelines; it's nice to see she can be a silly human grandma.

It is actually helping my nerves to be at the game instead of watching on tv.

I would be totally freaking out if watching at home.

I would also be more worried if this didn't happen in 5 out of 6 tournament games last year.
 
A&M playing over their head but I love it! Will be surprised if ND does not pull away in 2nd half.

Like I said yesterday, this A&M team can be good if they kept the defense honest. Keep them guessing and not run every single play through Carter.

I honestly thought A&M didn't have much of a chance today but they are hanging in there. They are playing some great basketball right now.

Its been quite a ride for them this year considering the players they lost to transfer and injury. Kudos to Blair
 
TAMU's lack of discipline and frustration starting to seep into the game.
