Sarah a finalist for the Cheryl Miller Award

I don’t know. Citron is a strong candidate and the only senior of the group, which may or may not count for some votes.
I like Citron a lot........watched her play in high school and stated here years ago that Geno needed to recruit her.......still, I view her as more of a guard than a forward.......

Sarah to me is the best of the group and her freshman status shouldn't be a consideration. How many of the others have her stats? Can play as many positions? and only played about half the minutes in most of the games against the cream puffs? To me when it is all said and done she will have a lot of the records at UConn.

The award may go to Citron, the only senior in this group, but the only
meaningful stat in which Sonia beats all the other Finalists is Free Throw %: 89.4 %.
Sarah is #2 right being Sonia in 3-point shooting 38.2 % for Citron to
Sarah's 37.0 % (Booker leads in the 3-pointer shooting % at 41.7 %). Sarah beats her in FG % (58.4 to 49.6), scoring (16.1 ppg to 14.2 ppg), A/To ratio (2.07 to 1.5), Steals (73 to 52) and Blocks (46 to 24). To my mind K. Pierre 6'2" of Vandy is the real competition at 20.8 ppg, 9.6 rb/g, and
87 Steals. In that particular match up Sarah beats K. Pierre in FG% (58.4 to
50.7%), Three point % (37% to 22.2%), Free Throw % (74.1 % to 66.7%),
A/TO (2.078 to 1.33) AND block shots: 46 for Sarah 8 for Pierre. Pierre however
played to two fewer games than SARAH: 29 to Sarah's 31. Pierre had
more points in fewer games: 602 points for Pierre, 500 for Sarah.... but
we all know that GENO took Sarah out of MANY/Most games when the
Huskies were well ahead. Interesting stuff... but the nod should go
to SARAH... GO SARAH! Freshman POY and Cheryl Miller Award winner!!
P.S. Sarah played 27.9 minutes per game. K. Pierre: 30.6 = 2.7 minutes more.

Hopefully, it's about more than the stats alone........how about which player has contributed the most to her team's success from her position at both ends of the court.......

The stat that may come closest to measuring that is WinShares, though even this doesn't tell the whole story. But if we're trying to comfort ourselves, Sarah is significantly ahead of the others in WS.

Sarah 9.0
Mikaylah 6.1
Khalil 7.0
Madison 6.9
Sonia 5.6

And just for context, the NPOY contenders are in the same range: Paige 9.1, Juju 8.2, Hannah 8.2

35.6%? That doesn’t sound right.

And the more i think about it, the only SFs appear to be Sonia and Mikayla. Sarah and Khamil look like PFs and Booker looks like an SG.
Their coaches choose which position category to enter them in.

Sarah >>>> Madison. Just sayin'
Sarah " looking GOOD". Booker is a fine player, but as a team
Texas just got "thumped" in the SEC Championship game by
South Carolina. SARAH CAME UP "BIG" this afternoon:
20 points, 8/14, five OFFENSIVE Rebounds, 16 total rebounds
(a season best for her), two blocks, and three steals. Oh, did I
mention her efficiency rating of 37?? If this is a "binary"
contest.... what is there to discuss? Like BRS24, I'm "Just sayin'"!

Love Citron myself (but not in Green). Somewhat like Sarah in that she just goes about her business with no fanfare, and facial expression never changes, much less smiles
Citron is from NY westchester county and went to Uresline in new rochelle NY. how did Geno miss on her? I went to IONA and they were our sister school. just 2 hours from stores. Maybe her dad is a ND grad or fan.
