Despite her terrible shooting percentage, on the right team she could be one that force’s defenses to play her honest. She’s already super tough down low despite being undersized so if she can add a consistent 3 point shot and continue to hone on her other skills I think the best is still to come for her. A lot of people forget she’s so young still. The right coach will make her even better.
Let’s say she comes to us and shoots 100 three pt shots per hi year instead of 200 because Dawn let’s her shoot only those 3 pointers that she is wide open for.. would her percentage increase? I think it would.

At DePaul, she is the opponents defensive focus. Thus, she is being covered on many of her 3 pt attempts. Againt our team, opponents are forced to sag on Cardosa. Thus, they would not be able to pick Morrow up on corner threes and she can still crash the boards - like Kiki did.

It all depends on two things: (1) Morrow’s jwillingness to play for a team where she is not getting near as many offensive touches; and (2) whether Dawn believes she will work as a team player rather than a me player without upsetting team chemistry.

I have my doubts, but I’m not Dawn.I , of course, trust her judgment.

@visitingcock spot on analysis. ..but I believe the other selling point for her to consider would be--being able to play on the perimeter..

She gets her 25/12 mostly when playing within 10-12 feet of the hoop. When she freelances out to the perimeter, as she so often did last season, her offensive efficiency dropped significantly.

By numbers yes but if you go and watch some games she definitely has range and a nice shooting touch. Surrounded by better players her numbers could be drastically better inside and out.

Hailey Van Lith jumped up to my #1 want on the wishlist. We would jump back into the national title talk if we added her. A starting 5 of Johnson - Van Lith - Hall - Feagin - Cardoso would be lethal!

UConn fans can certainly understand how an unexpected loss shakes fans’ confidence but South Carolina doesn’t need to get back into the national title talk because you never left it.

She fills the spot but I don't see her as the right fit personality wise for SC. She strikes me as a more of a "me" than "we" player based on some comments she's made.

@GamecockFan, you guys have not left the “national title talk” discussion at all.

Love Coach Fred. He’s a hoot and a half. Players love him. Sad to see him leave but very happy for him. Always wondered why a program hasn’t looked at Dawn’s staff for hires. Big loss. Going to need a new bigs coach. Will be interesting to see who they get. Will it be a former Gamecock player or coach like Asia Dozier, Nikki McCray, Cynthia Jordan, etc?

Has Nikki's health rebounded? I haven't heard much since she left State.

Asia would be pretty cool as an alum but jumping from HS coaching to the stage that South Carolina is on is a big, big one.

No doubt Dawn whomever Dawn hires will be awesome, though. Complete and total trust in her for sure.

NMP spent the last season with Rutgers so she is still coaching.

Sure feels like it. Reading social media it's like we never even happened.
We live in a “what have you done for me lately“ period.

Just wait until you see all the LSU clips on ESPN next year. It will be like South Carolina is 10 years removed from winning anything

Well, I feel we have the players to be in the national title discussion but I think having an elite guard with some experience would push us from the fringe talk to right in the thick of it.

I also wonder if she can play defense at the level required by Dawn?

Is Betts’s ready to back up Cardosa for a year? PT seems to have been her (and her family’s) problem at Stanford but could she be satisfied with the same role Cardosa played when she transferred here as a sophomore? I could see her as a 15 minute backup to Cardosa her first year but is that enough?

Is the $25,000 minimum wage enough for her?

According to the Cardboard, her mom has expressed on social media that she would prefer her daughter play for a black female coach.

We were in her 9 “finalists” before she committed to Stanford.

Let’s be real….the remaining players are ALL going to test Dawn’s defensive requirements. Better get some shooters..

I think Donarski is a better fit for SC than Van Lith but I’d take whoever we can get at that spot.

If I’m being realistic, we may not land either (fletcher caught us all off guard last season), but I’d be shocked if Dawn didn’t bring in an experienced guard. I just hope she can score, we don’t need a Nelly Perry this year. Really good player, but this team just lost over 70% of its offense.. no defensive specialist.

Would love one of those Oregon guards, Te-Hina Paopao or Endyia Rogers, to pair up with Raven. Prolific scorers, shot 42.4% and 38.7% respectively from behind the arc. Social media assumed Rogers to LSU when she pulled out of the draft but didn’t immediately go in the portal. Now that she is in it, maybe her recruitment is opened up. She’s from Dallas and Paopao is a Cali girl.

Twitter is assuming every recruit that enters the portal will end up at LSU. So I’m taking these rumors with a grain of salt.

I’m sure some will, but sheesh.

We did recruit her heavily out of high school, so there is a relationship there. I’d expect SC to reach out.
