The Europeans are just so much more prepared for this type of competition than we are.

My buddy told me yesterday that they play 4-ball growing up over there, it's a way of life.

Who would you rather go out and pound beers with?

I can't imagine keeping up with Lowry and Hatton, lol.

Our guys probably do Michelob Ultras chased with a kale seltzer.
I like to root for America in international competitions but the Europeans are way more fun in the Ryder Cup than the Americans. The players are way more fun and likable, way more clutch, and the fans bring that Euro soccer and boxing atmosphere you get from the fans across the pond.

1999 was the last time I remember the US team was so passionate about winning. A mix of the old and new breed players. I believe Crenshaw was Captain.

Rory takes it so passionately and it shows for the last 16 years or so. Tiger never really cared much for it, very indifferent, and his results show it. This format has always been in the European blood. Not so for American golf.

If anyone is interested tickets are now 400-500. That’s less than face value. Guess holding out for big money was a mistake

Thanks goodness for JJ Spaun have a scorching hot last several holes. or else we could have been mathematically eliminated before singles. LoL.

US players don't care about the Ryder Cup. Golf is not a team sport, whatever. I'll never root against our boys, but it is what it is.
Yeah, American players dont have that mindset. We won past Ryder Cups on pure talent advantage. But, that gap has closed.

Scottie hasn’t been just bad he’s been historically horrible. Hard to win when the #1 ranked player in the world plays like a Korn Ferry guy. Hard to watch when you know how great he is

Some old story, the USA just cannot make key putts.

Let’s also remind ourselves that USA fans have become repulsive. Especially on Long Island. Good gravy they also root for the Jets. Glad Rory won today.

Reading many reports of many Americans screaming obscenities at European players, Rory finally having to respond back. We are getting our asses kicked so I guess the thing to do is have no class.

I was tongue in cheek there. Folks always blame the captain.
He did make very bad decisions no doubt. One was not throwing Cam Young out early potentially playing better than anyone other than Sheffler heading in, and add he’s a NYer for the fans. One other was choosing Morikawa who was awful this year along with being the 148th best putter. Then sending his horrid golf out both mornings? Keegan wasn’t good, but when your guys can’t answer the bell you’re screwed anyway. Embarrassing no matter to be handled so easily. And the fans didn’t realize they were only making it worse with their spew of crap. I will say Rory needed to just play, I think his feelings were hurt because he is a favorite quite often during the PGA season he didn’t like the turn. And Lowry can’t hit the ball sideways for 7 holes then make a birdie and erupt like he won the Masters pointing to his EU emblem, please stop Shane.

Don’t disagree and this behavior has been commonplace in Europe even before that. My cousin lives in the UK and he sends me snapchats of stuff when he is at soccer games that I can’t even write here because it is so offensive. It’s all over the place and that’s not an excuse for here or there
Golf and soccer are supposed to be different atmospheres. The golf bros now yelling "Get in the hole" every shot is so stupid.

So what? Soccer (football) and American football are where the rabble go to rouse. Golf was always ‘bigger’ than that.

It’s no longer bigger than that. The gated community past time is as ugly as any other sporting event.

Personal attacks are just made by crappy individuals. They are unacceptable period and fans around those idiots should let them know. Many of our players should have tried to stop the actual personal attacks with their motions. But plain old rooting against the Euros, cheering crappy shots are all fine but need to end as the player begins to play his shot. And when the other team is landing all the haymakers and your team is crapping themselves maybe accept and respect it.

There is no chance today I hope fans in NY find a way to make up for embarrassing themselves a bit because the players won’t be able to.

We will probably hear from someone big on the coverage today condemning it, at least I hope so. Unfortunately it detracts a bit from the real story which is how much better Europe is. But the American juniors beat the European juniors in their Ryder Cup so maybe in 10-15 years we can turn this around.

It’s not that they are yelling. It’s what they are yelling which shouldn’t be a thing in soccer or golf. That’s the stuff that got the Europeans fired up and rightfully so. Also the generic noise in golf has been a thing for more than 20 years now - it’s not a recent phenomenon

Or mashed potatoes.

I don’t know what it is, but something feels off about this USA team. Maybe it was the hype video comparing the “fight” and “resilience” to that of 9/11 firefighters. Meanwhile Europe was just hanging out having a few beers and laughs.

Next time I’ll be sure to bet the house on my hunch
