The big 12 isn’t going to earn anywhere close to 70, million per school.

And most people don’t believe that the Big East will be able to earn $10 million per school in their next contract. Probably a few million per school less than that.
Early hypothetical figures to make a point.

And leaving a conference that is a better fit…right now we are selling out both venues… our fan base is excited every big east game… at least 3 schools are a bus ride a way…right now New York City is hopping.. with fans excitement though the roof …Hurley is out recruiting 99% of the schools…money is the only positive of moving out of the big east.. if we do… i hope it’s worth it
If you ended up in the ACC, you have Syracuse, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, on a yearly basis, which in the long run better then the new big East.
Better for the women too.

Just asking this question. Would the B1G give UConn a look because of two stellar basketball programs, Jim Mora and his football team, and because of UConn’s support of its Ice Hockey program, the new arena, etc. The B1G also gets it hooks into the NYC metro area and the rest of the Northeast.
How much $ are you bringing to the table? Nobody cares about women's basketball.

I think we bring the New England market and secure NYC and fit the eastern footprint. Anything is possible with 3 major conferences in tv negotiations.
There is no need to "secure" NYC. The B1G already has NYC.

It’s not a deal maker, but it is content that gets high ratings so it probably would be a net plus for us for the big since it’s quality BTN contact.

Uconn is a basketball brand…not sure what football tv contract money they can make..cbs pays uconn only around $500,000 a year for football… we have to do a lot better then that… maybe SNY will pay better when our cbs tv contract is up

We will have to stick with cbssn because it is a national platform which is important to visiting teams as they want be sure their school can be watched back at home and around the country.

The XL center became an afterthought as soon as both casinos opened. Now they both have Sports betting on site. I find it amazing that you can't bet on UConn teams in state(full disclosure I don't bet on College sports) yet the UConn Women play at Mohegan Sun. It's the ultimate hypocrisy -It tells me that the state and city of Hartford can't produce a venue to compete with Mohegan Sun.
This post seems very critical, but I'm sure not sure of what. That you can't bet on UConn games in CT? I agree it's stupid, but it's equally stupid almost everywhere. NJ and MA I know. And they are building a sportsbook in the XL center as we speak. Like all new sportsbooks, it will disappoint. People bet online these days. Are you aware of the compact between the tribes and the state? In return for exclusivity, the tribes pay 25% of their slot revenue. Last I heard, that was the most any tribe pays a state. That's why the state and city of Hartford can't produce a venue to compete with Mohegan Sun.

UConn is not a football school-at least not for now. Outside of CT who would watch UConn football? The last 30 years it’s been UConn & Syracuse basketball, especially in MSG. That’s my opinion!
Let's base our economic future on 3 or 4 days in New York City vs. a program that is now in greener pastures. Is that the proposal?

Putting UConn football on SNY is a death sentence for the program even if it were for more than the CBS deal.

While money is crucial to future success, so is visability. Being seen on national TV is much more important than a few more dollars from SNY, which limits the viewership to the tri state area.

As UConn football continues to navigate a path as an independent, it must have games, on TV, available to the whole country

SNY can be viewed out of market on the FoxSports app.

Is there a path as a independent to make more media money… maybe producing our own content.. then selling it? Streaming?

What if they beat NC State and Tennessee next Fall, would they watch UConn then?

The Women have delivered ratings and value to the B1G when they have played a B1G team on

We will be in a conference for football and I’m thinking sooner rather than later. Three major conferences are in contract talks for tv deals = realignment changes can’t be far off. Here’s hoping!!
