Any chance he declares for the NBA? That may make more sense, if he does not sign with an agent.

Typical sports fans. Herron doesn't give uconn a first second or third look in initial recruiting. Tons of posters talk about problems and under the table cash in his camp and we trash kid for not considering us .

Now?

Dude, have you ever been to Auburn or even Alabama for that matter? AL is the only place I've lived outside of CT, and what you just described is demonstrably false.
Other than the 2 major university towns, in Huntsville, in Gulf Shores or adjoining nice towns, and a very other possible exceptions, I can't fathom living in Alabama, but Auburn the town and Tuscaloosa are every bit your typical great college towns. Clearly, Auburn draws many students who are neither children of farmers nor whatever stereotype lesser informed individuals opt to believe as well as a good number of out-of-state students.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Noachimson, where are you? You don't think we'd want Kuran Iverson if we could get him today? So many posters said he wasn't "UCONN material". I guess you need to have double ACL surgery or not have offers from big time programs to be "UCONN material" these days. Forgive and forget should be our motto.

You could make the same argument about Connecticut and Hartford and it would not be that difficult.
Not even close. Have you spent any time in Alabama? Connecticut is utopia compared to Alabama. They do football much better there though.

The fact that you used Connecticut and utopia in same sentence makes me laugh. I have been to bama several times. It is backwards but Connecticut ain't nothing to write home about. There is a reason why people are moving out in droves.

It's not because CT is backwards. It's because our taxes are ridiculous and jobs are leaving in droves.....I won't get political so I'll just nod in DM's direction and point.

I would find it interesting if UConn would even be a thought if he transfers. And if so why?

In my area around Buffalo, people are leaving in droves. And yet the housing values are rising. This tells me the people coming in are buying more house than the people moving out. Maybe people leave Connecticut because the of the million dollar ranch houses in Westport.

It comes down to "even a thought". How about an after thought. I hope he at least gives us a THOUGHT this next time around but we don't seem to be on his radar as of now.

I could live happily anywhere.

But Auburn, Alabama would be a huge shock to the system in a way that even Morgantown, West Virginia would not be.
We had idiots posting here that Auburn paid Heron close to half a million dollars to play for Auburn, easily one of the dumbest things said on a board full of dumb things said.

Not that dumb. Very unlikely, but.. He's no Cam Newton, but I wouldn't be surprised if promises were made from donors.

Auburn is a top 5 dirty program, but the necks don't care as long as they beat'Bama once every 5 years or so.

Especially with the going rate of about 150k for a blue chipper.

I learned in life a long time ago. "It isn't the stand, it is the man."

Translation:

It doesn't matter what the town is like, what the people are like. The prime example was Jim Calhoun recruiting at a place that had nothing. It is the man, you can either recruit, or you can't, and the ability to do so, makes you an elite coach, the failure to do so, sends you into early dismissal.

Kid had the balls to take the road less traveled by and move out of state for college. You see where staying close to home got kids like Enoch - nowhere. I'm willing to sign the young man up now that he's dipped his foot into the real world. We could market him as somebody who left the state a kid and returned a man, you know? He could infuse some direly needed culture into our clubhouse.

There are lots of other places to live. Outside of someone from Westport, typically 2nd generation, I don't hear anyone complaining about home values in Westport. People leave the high cost of living in New Canaan and move to Westport :D
