Reports: UConn Presentation to Big12 in Dallas on 9/8

I would've agreed in July but the Big 12 has made everything public even when they said they wouldn't make it public. I can see them cutting the list to 4-6 and then doing one more dog and pony show by late September/early October.

I have a hard time believing that any of this is transparent or above board. And the presentations are more about selling expansion to some schools that aren't sold on it.

It's not that they don't think we are not worth that much but they already have us for a fraction of that amount and don't want to have to pay more if we go to the B12.

I did the graphic. A lot of record keeping, including the NCAA's, lists Connecticut athletics as UConn. More than happy to re-arrange if the preference is to be "C"onnecticut it once you guys officially join.

OOPS...still in the wrong spot though, I must have forgotten the alphabet

If I had a nickel for every time I told someone I was going to/was/used to attend UConn, and they first thought I was talking about the Yukon... and we are talking about a B12 fan here...

UConn will repackage and review its intense, under-the-radar lobbying effort that lasted well over a year, while the Big 12 comes armed with wide variety of data on UConn, ranging from previous athletic success to TV market sizes.

Patrick also reported about 2 hours ago that Tulane had wrapped up their presentation. So, did we go last, or did Patrick maybe get tired of watching the hotel lobby and headed to the bar and missed SH's and DB's exit? On the other hand, maybe they've got the B12 guys mesmerized.

One can only hope that we went last and that it went so well that SH and DB were invited out to dinner by the B12 committee to "continue the discussion". I always like presenting last for this reason, and because the competition is left to wonder if this might have happened.​
