Yet another of the five and four star recruits he's brought in who then became underachievers.
Maybe they're all looking at Nembhard who instantly became the point guard for Gonzaga and could be on the first undefeated NC since 1976.
I get your point, but take a look at what he does with the ball in his hands and recall how deficient we were this year getting to the rim.I get that he's good. I'm just already tired of the posts next year about having too many guys who can't shoot. And saying someone has NBA potential says nothing. (I know you didn't say that.) Jackson has NBA potential. Sanogo has NBA potential. A ton of guys have NBA potential if a bunch of different things go right for them. And if he's "arguably one of the best" (another non-statement) defenders in college basketball he should have gotten at least one vote for ACC DPOY.
He's a good player, I'm not saying otherwise. I just don't think he's top of the list in terms of filling a need.
sounds like a shorter PolleyI watched every Florida game....He is a very good 3 point shooter if he can set his feet. He is not someone who creates his own shot.
As for his defense it is nothing special. He does not have great lateral quickness so he struggles with more athletic players.
He’s a better shooter than polleysounds like a shorter Polley
It’s usually the player’s decision to transfer or not.If it ends up not working out, at least it was their decision.
I don't know what else you said but this post is spot on. Lots of non-athlete kids don't go to college or go for a year or two and quit to pursue their dreams. Jobs and Wozniak come to mind, and many of the other tech billionaires too, besides people in the trades or other fields where they develop skills and start a business. Is Northeastern's co-op program student abuse or does it give kids a leg up in the job market?Wrong. Everything I said is 100 percent true. Keep amateur sports amateur. Let kids be kids. Say no to amateur basketball mercenaries.
Worry about the struggles of the average Joe college student. The 1% student athlete is not the one you should spend your time worrying about. The entitlement speaking about the struggles of Cade Cunningham, Jalen Suggs, and Evan Mobley is laughable.
They and every other basketball/football players are free to pursue their dreams outside of college if they so wish like Jalen Green and like Jonathan Kuminga.

They're probably thinking:Wahab coached by Ewing, team on a roll, winning the Big East, being highly touted, playing a ton. Swider? Coached by Jay Wright, significant role on a top 10 team. Memphis kids on the upswing winning the NIT. What in the world are the expectations of these kids? Coaches are really earning their money in the 'off season' this year.
This should be interesting. It's generally acknowledged that Locke's final two were PC and Florida and per usual for PC when it comes to schools like this he chose Florida. PC is the only school on this list that he had official visits with. Ohio St. Michigan, Xavier, and Florida were his other officials.I hope we get Locke but man, this transfer rule is literally ridiculous. Did the NCAA not foresee this happening?
They should’ve just extended the sit one rule to coaches.
Highly doubt we’d be in the mix for a kid from Texas .Perfect fit alert
Gaffney should never play another min at PG and I like his game a lot. Cole should play a ton off the ball too.Almost 6 APG. A grad transfer point guard? Signal a move of Gaffney or Cole off the ball? Love his FT%. Decent from 3, but not great. Looks strong for a 6'1" guard.
Find me a non-Top 25 rated PG who can start and be successful at PG for a successful team as a Freshman. The only UConn answer is Doron Sheffer, and he was not your typical freshman.if Diggins can play day one To spread out the PG eligibility

Can definitely see Diggins as a contributor next year. Dan Hurley is too loyal to RJ to hand the keys over to Diggins in his first year.Find me a non-Top 25 rated PG who can start and be successful at PG for a successful team as a Freshman. Historically we had KEA who did a great job (McDonald's AA), Taliek who didn't (McDonald's AA, but they didn't make the NCAAs), AJ Price who didn't (Top 30 recruit, but they didn't even make the NIT, though the whole team was new and he missed two years). Kemba and Shabazz struggled as sophomores.
I like Diggins, but he's not one of those freshmen who we should expect to show up and just dominate. If he does, great. But you can't plan on that because it just doesn't happen.
Yeah, everyone is guilty of hyping up their own incoming freshman, but looking at the RSCI yearly top 100’s stats on SportsRef will sober you up quick. Plenty of busts and very little year 1 production.Find me a non-Top 25 rated PG who can start and be successful at PG for a successful team as a Freshman. JUST IN: Illini guard Adam Miller enters transfer portal
Illinois freshman guard Adam Miller has entered the transfer portal, sources confirmed to 247Sports. ESPN's Jeff Borzello first reported the news. Miller is a big loss to247sports.com
Yes. Please.
From 247's Brian Snow:
Standing around 6-foot-3 and possessing good length, he has positional versatility on both ends of the floor. One of the better shooters from the guard position. Has good athleticism to complement that. Offensively he is best off the ball where he can be a catch-and-shoot guy that also attacks closeouts. On defense, he shows the ability to defend either guard spot physically and should project to be above-average on that end going forward.
Averaged 8.3p, 49.4 2p%, 34.0 3p% with about 2/3rds of shots from 3. Not ideal numbers, but this guy was hyped coming in.
If not UConn, would be a fantastic Chicago kid to transfer to DePaul.

Nor should he. Bouk and Akok earned their minutes. Later that season, so did Gaff. That's how it ought to be.Hurley has not shown a lot of willingness to just play freshmen a ton of minutes early on, except Akok.
I will be surprised if Hawkins isn't contributing in a big way as the season progresses. I expect Diggins and Hawkins to contribute next year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if either didn’t and I wouldn’t be expecting either to play a huge role.
Not sure if you consider St Johns a successful team this past year but Posh did a good job and he was in the 200's. I agree, I don't think we should expect much from Diggins until later in the year thoughFind me a non-Top 25 rated PG who can start and be successful at PG for a successful team as a Freshman. They were a bubble team that went 16-11 and was NIT bound. Not a success. Not sure if you consider St Johns a successful team this past year but Posh did a good job and he was in the 200's. I agree, I don't think we should expect much from Diggins until later in the year though
