Khristian Lander from Indiana is in the portal. Former 5*
I was referring to what he said today about our current state in response to someone talking about potential transfers. But you already knew that. If we are talking about the past, the last time we had sufficient shooters was 2014. The problem preceeds Hurley. The program has needed some pure shooters since he Dan Hurley walked on campus (and in fairness before that) - and no, Polley is not one
So yes, it appears as far as that is concerned, Dan Hurley was born yesterday
Rutgers had a historically good year (literally) and are still having players leave. This season is so confusing. I am pro players transferring and doing whatever is best for them, but still just surprised at some of the names we’ve seen enter.
Edit: he would be a 5th year player, so maybe it’s just his time to move on, but still surprising.
I think a decent amount will end up at their original school. Sometimes the grass isn’t greener, but like i said i respect their choice to leave for whatever reason they want to.One thing to keep in mind is these players don't have to leave. Spring sports had the free transfer rule last year and ~20% of kids who entered the portal returned to their original school
Only saw him play that one game but absolutely loved what I saw from him.NCAA tournament star and Big Sky Player of the Year Tanner Groves has entered the transfer portal, sources told ESPN. Scored 35 points against Kansas in the first round for Eastern Washington. Averaged 17.2 points and 8.0 rebounds this season.
Wow, good for him.NCAA tournament star and Big Sky Player of the Year Tanner Groves has entered the transfer portal, sources told ESPN. Scored 35 points against Kansas in the first round for Eastern Washington. Averaged 17.2 points and 8.0 rebounds this season.
UConn isn’t a very good basketball school?Wow, good for him.
No chance we'll get him as I see him taking advantage of his suddenly high stock and parlay that into a potential starting gig at a very good basketball school.
He's not getting a starting gig over Adama.UConn isn’t a very good basketball school?
We're already 20% of the way to the 100 pages I predicted this thread will go to. And the transfer season is just getting started. 😀this is nutz
Ya doesn't has to call them Johnsons..............Some transfer portal fun name facts:
- Three players named Terrell Brown
- Two players named Tre Mitchell
- There's a Carter, a Carter Jr. and two Carter III's.
- Two Christmases
- Charlie Daniels is available
- 14 Johnson's and Jones'
- Khalid El-Amin, Ron Artest, Jamal Mashburn, Glenn Robinson, Larry Robinson and Fred Hoiberg all have their sons in the portal.
Last year they lost Nembhard who fit right in with Gonzaga this year and their coach seems to specialize in recruiting highly rated guys who underperform, such as:Surprised he’s leaving Florida. He’s a big time shooter. Would love to have him

Scottie Lewis, Omar Payne and Niels Lane besides Nembhard.
Tre Mann was great though. White just seems to be falling out of favor there with the fans and I think the vibe of the program isn’t great right now. But it’s weird because I do think he’s a good coach. If Johnson didn’t have his health issue this year things would have been much prettier. I think we’ve seen first hand how things go south quickly once a few bounces go the wrong way.Last year they lost Nembhard who fit right in with Gonzaga this year and their coach seems to specialize in recruiting highly rated guys who underperform, such as:

I doubt our Hurley pursued, he'll get his guys.Heath and Bramah to Arizona St. Wrong Hurley.
