Rough few days for Louisville, fired 2 assistant coaches and then lose 2 of the commits. Interesting that Luke Murray was one of them, lots of talk on here about him last offseason as an intruiguing hire before we went with KFree

Averaged only 8.8 mpg with Bacot, Brooks and Sharpe in the mix.

From 247's Jerry Meyer: Good size and build for a center while appearing to still be growing. Average athlete. Gets up and down the court, though. Greatest strength is a variety of scoring moves, including hook shots. Can stretch defense with shooting. Good hands and feel for the game. Positional rebounder and defender. Worst case scenario projects as a solid NBA backup center.

Big shooter alert:

Florida Atlantic's Jaylin Ingram just hit the portal.

The 6'7 215 grad transfer from Madison, GA averaged 12.4p, 6.0r, 45.2 3p% with 1.9 3PM a game. His career shooting splits are 47.4 2p%, 36.1 3p%, 71.7 ft%.

Ingram played the 4 for FAU last season. IMO, an excellent Polley replacement if he's willing to play a bench role but I wouldn't blame him looking for a starting gig.

Gotta love those numbers and that frame.

I think Maryland showed what we were lacking and that is effective defenders who can hit the three. If we are recruiting transfers, we need those types of hard-nosed grinders who can hit an open 3.

On a side note, this year it appeared that Danny resisted the NBA model of spread offenses but in his defense that may be because his best defensive lineups weren't necessarily hitting threes with consistency. With Akok back next season, it's very possible the floor will be better spread out while maintaining the shot blocking and intensity that IW offered.

Yes, it's why I would take Fatts Russell in a second. He's undersized and shoots a bad percentage but he can break anyone off the dribble to get others shots or get himself shots.

This. Our best offense was Bouk going on 1 on 5 since the rest of the guys were complete non-threats in the half court. Now with him gone, we have pretty much 0 returning players who can be triple threats with the ball.

AJ Bramah, a 6'-7" grad transfer scorer from Robert Morris, announced his final 4 choices. UConn wasn't in the mix;. St Bonaventure, Nevada, ASU and Western KY. Odd mix of schools that must have common connection for the kid.

This. Our best offense was Bouk going on 1 on 5 since the rest of the guys were complete non-threats in the half court. Now with him gone, we have pretty much 0 returning players who can be triple threats with the ball.

I think it's a big reason we lost, Bouknight was forcing everything and was a net negative on offense.

Guys we have 3 open scholarships in what will be perhaps the biggest, best transfer market ever, in history. We're going to add at least one impact guy on the wing. We're a team on the rise and some guy is going to see that he's a missing piece. We'll be fine next season. We're going to have SOOO many options. As teams get eliminated and as the tournament ends, the market is about to get crazy. Also don't count out a guy like Polley or Whaley coming back(and they still wouldnt even count towards our scholly total) lol. There is a greater chance that we are loaded next season, than there is that we won't have enough. We are a prime transfer destination right now. Sit back and be patient

Cole could not beat anyone off the dribble or get us into an offense, Polley is beyond one-dimensional, Jackson is not an offensive threat, and Martin was horrendous. Until we get multiple guys who can handle, pass, and shoot, we are going to have to rely on just going iso all the time. And our total lack of spacing just played right into Maryland's pack-line style D. The game was over from the opening possession and we never made a single adjustment or make a concerted effort to play inside/out.

Agreed. We got nothing else going way too often. Bouknight was forced to play heroball IMO.

We need a guard who can dribble, a wing who can shoot and score and a big who can play D and rebound. They all need to be D1 high major ready.

Our style of play makes zero sense with the abilities our players have, that's on the coach.

Except I'm not sure what we are supposed to do. We are/were very flawed offensively and when forced to play half court offense, our weaknesses were consistently exposed; especially against good comp. If you are a team that can't shoot (which we were), then you need guys who can penetrate and get hoops (which we didn't have.) So we just would try to grind out most games.

With Bouk leaving and us being on the rise in the NBE, we have never been a more attractive target for a high-level transfer. PG and Cs could be worried. Anyone on the wing should see a HUGE opportunity here.
