Recent Moves in the WNBA

starting to think that the Wnba wants to add 2 expansion teams because if I remember correctly, the expansion teams usually get the #1st overall pick. Not sure if that still is the way. It be hillarious if these teams that are tanking for Bueckers and Clarke all for nothing when 2 expansion teams pick 1 and 2. And I think that would be fair since thay are starting from scratch and would need a gamechanging player

Nice thought, but...........Maya Moore appears happy away from basketball, and that's perfectly ok. I'd say there's less than a 1% chance of Maya returning to professional sports. I'm afraid that ship has sailed. Maya has turned the page on her athletic career, and has transitioned to the next chapter in her life.

We can all be glad we got to see her at her best. She was a champion at every level she played at. She was a great player and she is a great person. She says she still has more things on her "to do" list. No doubt we'll hear or read about Maya in the months and years to come. Moore is the reason I became interested in the WNBA. I wanted to follow her after she left UConn.

Literally what is going on in MN? Reeves always struck me as a good coach who seemed to have a good thing going with a franchise that had strong support and success. Yes they had 4/5 all time greats on those rosters but even they moved on it seemed to be a solid team.

I don't think I've seen a WNBA team basically set a roster and blow it up this early in the year. Maybe these are the best decisions for everyone but the optics are bad.

I’m glad the boneyard is reacting to this. I just read the article about McCoughtry and and Sims and how they released others they signed under hardship waivers? Don’t get me wrong, Evina is a great get, but she alone does not make a team.

I hope Fowles has a great year. She deserves to go out on a high note. She’s played relentlessly throughout her career and is truly one of the best centers to play the game. But man, Reeve and co. seemed determined to tank this team hard.

Well, if there's something "big," what do the Lynx have to offer in return? Coller's out for most of the year. K-Mac is in Turkey.
They're not going to give up a draft choice at this point.

And it looks like a lot of things that Reeve helped would work out haven't. Even close.
Well, Evina looks like she'll be able to stick with Angel gone and K-Mac still in Turkey. But the big question mark is who the heck is going to be the lead guard with Syms gone. Will a call go to MoJeff or Lindsay Allen? If Reeve wants to win with Big Syl, you'd go with a vet at this point. Stay tuned.
Looks like MoJeff it is! Very happy about this, but feel sorry for Crystal Dangerfield. Hope she finds a team soon.

So how are they going to field a credible team? They now don't have a PG on the roster.. The Lynx are becoming a joke.
If Reeve thought some players were dogging it, what better way to get the attention of her team than by releasing some players? McCaughtry’s best days are behind her.

What happened with Crystal? She is not with the Fever?

Well she has a team now .....I hope her release from the Wings was not due to diminished abilities due to past injuries.

Speaking of the Wings; are they likely to give up anytime soon on Charli Collier? She seems to have gotten minimal minutes her whole career.

Kevin Ollie built a nice pro career out of 10 day contracts
You picked a great example. I can't think of any other player who had a 10 year or so career, where every year he was on a bubble if he would make a team or not. He also had the kind of traits that teams liked for that last roster spot or two. Unselfish, hard worker, hustles on defense, good teammate, doesn't complain about playing time, good practice player etc.

Nice, and it looks like both are signed for the rest of the season
Like I said when E was cut from the Storm, when one door closes, another one opens.

She couldn’t get off the bench towards the end of the season last year. I still don’t understand what the Wings saw in her to make her the first overall pick in the draft.

She was a starter when the season began, but managed to play her way on to the end of the bench by season’s end. At times she completely disappeared in games for Texas her sophomore and junior year.

Minny finally has a nice backcourt!
Lot better than this morning, that's for sure! MoJeff is very much needed to add a veteran presence at the lead guard position and will help pronto.
Evina, with her athletic and defensive ability will can come in stretches and pick up a bunch from Kayla McBride when K-Mac returns. "Buckets" is a solid, solid professional who will pass on what she knows.

Not an easy assignment. Chicago on the road. Hope Cheryl has some patience
Or, maybe, MoJeff hasn’t regressed as much as the Dallas situation would lead us to believe.

At least that’s what I’m telling myself as I pick up MoJeff in the BY fantasy league…

I am thinking more about the lack of time to gel with a team using a new system etc. Same with Evina.
