Ok, so when looking at the AP Poll, you need to keep in mind the points, not just the Rank #. Indiana was 1 point behind LSU so will the voters be less impressed with LSU's two palty victories this week to swap the two teams? Below is last week's poll and 11 of the 25 ranked teams lost this past week, including all teams from 8-12. UConn had a big point lead on #6 Iowa so despite the loss, I think they still stay ahead of Iowa (who won two impressive games this week, while Utah struggled in their 2 games this week.
1. SC
2. Indiana
3. LSU
4. UConn
5. Stanford
6. Iowa
7. Utah
Last, Duke might jump up to #10- a huge jump but well earned (Yes, I am trying to curry favor with a certain Triad WCBB fan!)

My personal rankings
  1. South Carolina (23-0)
  2. Indiana (22-1)
  3. UConn (21-3)
  4. LSU (23-0)
  5. Iowa (19-4)
  6. Utah (20-2)
  7. Stanford (22-3)
  8. Maryland (19-5)
  9. Duke (20-3)
  10. Notre Dame (18-4)
AP prediction
1. South Carolina
2. LSU
3. Indiana
4. UConn
5. Iowa
6. Stanford
7. Utah
8. Maryland
9. ?
10. ?

As many said before, LSU will be #2 so they can hype a #1 vs. #2 showdown. UConn should move up b/c how tough they played SC, but if Iowa jumps to 4 I wouldn’t be surprised. Stanford should drop considerably b/c of a bad loss to Washington. USC was a more respectable loss. MD should stay idle at 8 b/c the Ohio State blowout evens out the Iowa loss. #9 & #10 is anybody’s guess b/c ND (9), Ohio St (10), UNC (11) & Iowa St (12) all lost & VA Tech (13) only played once this week beating Syracuse.
Iowa. Iowa deserves no more than 8th. They only have two more Quad wins than losses UConn has seven. Stanford has six. Indiana has six Utah has seven.

LSU has 4. Just because Iowa scores a lot of points people want to rate them highly. there’s more to the game than scoring points.

The AP voters are sportswriters. They don’t care about ESPN rankings
But we all want to see a #1 vs. #2 Women’s Basketball game, am I right? It’s all the name of growing the game. I guess we’ll see tomorrow.

The only ranking I care about now is NET, and we were already #2 before this game. Stanford took a big hit today from the "other huskies," and this may help us get either the #2 or #3 overall seed. This would mean we'd have a shot at meeting SC in the NC game.

Are you serious? We beat Iowa. Utah - I don't think so.
But you are allowed your opinion.
Very. We are talking about sports writers. I have no faith in them. We lost and Iowa and Utah didn't. That is all they need to drop us. We'll see...

I think Indiana should be #2. They have a nice record in a good conference, though they play 4 ranked teams in their final 5 games. If they run the table, I'll be very impressed, though they could lose 2 of 3 of them.

That was another bad loss for Stanford. They got out-rebounded and lost to a mediocre Washington team. I'm not impressed.

LSU struggled against a bad TAMU team. They have yet to prove anything, because the SEC is uncharacteristically weak. Somehow the schedulers have them playing Tennessee and S. Carolina only once each. Travesty!

I'd go:

1. S. Carolina
2. Indiana
3. UConn
4. LSU
5. Stanford
6. Iowa

In the AP we’ll end up at #3. The Stanford, tOSU, UCLA and ND losses will clear away all the noise. It’s just SC, UConn, IU, LSU, Duke MD and Stanford who still look like top teams. And the sportswriters already have enough doubts about LSU to keep them out of the very top. But they’ll put IU ahead of us just to be standoffish.

The more interesting question is who gets #4. I think they won’t reward LSU, and it will go to Stanford.

More interesting question, in my opinion is, what would they have done if we’d won? Would they have jumped us up at the top of the list? Interestingly, I think a close loss probably does just about the same thing as a close win. I feel pretty confident it’s at least within five pole positions in any event.

Utah #4? The Utes who barely squeaked by both middling Oregon teams this weekend? Do you even watch the games? Utah has been struggling the last few weeks and will not even finish 2nd in the PAC this year…

I think it depends on how they view the Stanford loss (to an unranked team) and UConn's loss, to the #1 ranked team.

I think:

1. SC
2. LSU
3. Indiana
4. UConn (It would be possible for UConn to move up with a loss)
5. Stanford (Stanford may even fall further......)

of course, I may be way off base here......

I think Iowa might replace Stanford in the Top 5, I also think those voting would love to see a #1 South Carolina vs #2 LSU game next Sunday, winner taking control of the SEC rankings. It’d be great for marketing, especially with the Super Bowl being the talk of that day.
I seem to recall that someone, using the same logic, predicted that UConn would be rated #2 in advance of the SC-UConn game. Didn't happen, for good reason. Yes, this will be a battle of the unbeatens, but I don't think LSU will come close to the showing UConn made yesterday.

Utah is tied for first in the PAC12 right now. Who do you think finish ahead of them? Four of their last 6 games are at home. Arizona needed double OT to beat an unranked team and OT to beat UCLA.

Iowa over Stanford and Utah is ridiculous. Over Notre Dame and Duke is questionable.

Oh well, they get Indiana soon enough. Guess the Journalist want to write about that matchup and Caitlyn

The top six came out exactly as I thought they should (to my great surprise). The only odd thing that struck me was that Maryland didn't drop after a loss to Iowa and a win against an Ohio State team which is now in freefall (1-4 in their last five after starting out 19-0). I thought they would drop a few spots. Also a little surprised Middle Tennessee got any votes at all after losing two straight in conference (Massey dropped them 13 spots to 49).
