Providence Post Game Thread

I think we’ve gotten bored and laxed on our execution and intensity. No one besides maybe St John’s I think will get these guys competitive juices flowing. They know against these guys they can just piss around and win.

This is a good take. When we went up 29-19, what was followed by incredibly poor play from all, especially Alex and Solo. It was just arrogant, here comes the blowout, Ho Hum.

Reibe has spent more time on the bench of late, but the team looks better when he's in. He actually moves on offense. Today, they looked much better when he was in.

Because they don’t actually feel threatened. We’ve seen this team against teams they respect. It’s not a good trait because it can bite you in the arse. But it’s the only explanation

They’ve been bored since Texas. They haven’t played one team worth fearing. Not one. They’re playing in a quasi mid major conference this season. I’m afraid it’s going to come back to haunt us. They need an actual challenge.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think Hurley takes Big East players.

Point Guard U won that game for the Huskies with their overall play and efficiency.
27-13 with 0 turnovers between Demary and Smith.
Good to see Smith playing well again.

Not to mention 7 of 9 (at crucial times) from three point land.

They're 2-8 in the Big East. We were favored by 15.5. They didn't have their leading scorer active.

If there ever was a burn the tape game that was it. In addition to being a horrible game to watch, if I never hear those two announcers again, I'll be a happy man. How many times were they talking about it being such a great win for Providence if they were to pull it out. Good grief! I hope they never pair those two together again.

This is why I watch the game with no sound. 25% less stress.

I know the 2023 recruiting class was terrible overall, but its very disappointing two 6'7", fairly athletic wings that have been at a high level D1 program for 3 years have zero semblance of an offensive game. Jaylin and Jayden's lack of development is pretty bad at this point, they literally don't provide anything on offense.

I was stunned when they were both brought back this past offseason.

To develop you have to have room to make mistakes and be aggressive. They haven’t had that in their 3 years here. Tonight continued that.

Ross had 1 turnover today. And it got him benched for the whole half.

Solo with the turnovers, bad shot selection especially with a bum wrist was bad. At one point he was responsible for 4 consecutive empty possessions via turnovers or stupid shots. Providence scored on 3 of them.

The turnovers aren't right either. Add up to 9 but the boxscore says 10.
