Providence Post Game Thread

If there ever was a burn the tape game that was it. In addition to being a horrible game to watch, if I never hear those two announcers again, I'll be a happy man. How many times were they talking about it being such a great win for Providence if they were to pull it out. Good grief! I hope they never pair those two together again.
We've been burning lot's of tape lately.

Point guards: 27 points, 12 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 0 turnovers, 50% FG, 7-9 from three

Centers: 33 points, 14 rebounds, 6 blocks, 14-15 FG

Karaban and Solo: 25 points but 8-32, 4-15 from three

Stewart and Ross: 2 points, 0-4

Needless to say, shoutout to the point guards and centers

Dumb game. But 20 wins does look shiny. As always, let’s go Huskies!

You know those times where you feel sick to your stomach and you're just waiting to throw up because you know you will feel infinitely better afterwards? That's how it feels watching this team right now. Get the loss out of the system and then onward and upward.
Nah let's win the rest of the season to Natty#7. I don't want to lose.

Head scratcher W.....Hurley is way too lenient with AK and Solo. Why we continued to run offensive sets for someone in a shooting slump and hurt wrist blows my mind. It didn't take long to realize we had a huge advantage down low and the ball should of went down there every trip down the floor.

The good: 20-1

The bad: This is the worst we’ve looked all year and I don’t like the trend over the last 5 games. Ross and Stewart aren’t giving much without Mullins out
I think we looked the same tonight as last month but we didn’t have Mullins tonight. When the game is on the line UConn plays really well. When they get up 10 or look like they are about to pull away in second half, they revert to looking like bad team, until the game gets tight again. I don’t understand why they struggle so much after ping on a 9-0 run. This team plays better when the momentum is against them.

Huge Reibe game. His footwork and ability to change hands was really great. Such a high potential. Shout out Mali for making threes, still can’t sniff a free throw or layup but I shudder to think of where we are if he wasn’t 4/4. Silas willed that team to victory.

I know at the end of the day Vaaks will be freshman all big east and maybe BE FOY but he’s maybe the most selfish, poor team player I’ve ever seen. Jamier is 20x the player he is with 1/20th the rope. That’s why KE stinks, because he leaves the team in the hands of an iso merchant rather than a dynamic player. I would love to see JJ on our team next year.

A rivalry wins is a win, and little Corey Floyd was terrible which doesn’t make me sad, but man with a hurt solo and no Mullins we have no floor spacers that can create.

What other options does he have with no Braylon? Ross and Stewart were just as bad.

Is there a sports psychologist who can help Ross and Stewart find their identities on the court? Is there a hand surgeon who can help Solo's wrist? Is there a strength & conditioning coach who can get Alex some lateral quickness? Sam Hauser got it done.

FT shooting can't be hovering at the 50% mark.

I did like the way they broke down the zone repetitively, with inside passing, screens at the top, and overloads for open 3's

20-1 feels great, but it should feel even better than this.
