Yes, yes and yes to your points! But he still has to learn to not reach in as much as he does.

Still in shock at the ending of the game. For everyone saying it was a great game, it was not for 30ish minutes haha! When Providence took the 11 point lead with the razzle dazzle layup, I thought that might be the icing on the cake for them, but then Alex hit the quick shot on the other end. This game had everything stacked against UCONN and everything going for Providence that are traditional recipes for upsets:
-Scorching hot crowd for the home team underdog.
-Miserable first half from UCONN.
-Poor defense from UCONN for the majority of the game.
-Role players having career nights.
-Multiple threes going in from players that don't shoot threes well that will never go in again.
-Momentum shifting technical to start the 2nd half.
-UCONNs leading scorer having a very off game.
-A stud center who couldn't get out of his own way in the first half.
-Multiple poor plays when you thought there was a chance for momentum to shift that ruined those thoughts.

Now that we're almost 12 hours removed, I can say that was as good of a comeback as I can ever remember. It wasn't an 11 point comeback with 3 minutes left where it was a rock fight and 1 team went on a run to push it there in a game of runs. It was a team leading by that margin or close to it, outplaying the other team for the vast majority of the game. Unbelievable ending, hats off the coaches and players. Great teams find ways to win and that is what happened. Tremendous game! I hope DePaul is buried by the under 16 timeout on Saturday!

Yep he has always had this skillset but couldn't stay on the court because his D was subpar. He has worked on playing great D and staying on the court to do other things on offense. He was also 2nd on the team behind Tarris with 5 boards.

While Ball definitely had a rough game defensively, these stats are exaggerated by the fact that Providence's center was in foul trouble during much of the time that Ball was also sitting.

When Ball was in there with Reed in the 1st half and the Providence center was playing, he really prevented Reed from scoring, which lead to a lot of wasted trips and contributed to PC's 10-12 point lead.

These sort of in-game differences are why I always look at +/- stats a little dubiously.

Watching the replay. What an absolute monster Tarris Reed can be. On the game tying putback with 12 seconds left, Erhunmwunse has better position from the start for the rebound and then pushes Reed in the neck with two arms. Reed essentially doesn't even notice and bodies him across the paint, gathering the ball, and putting it back before Erhunmwunse can even contest.
 
With all the shots PC was making I was surprised CFjr missed the potential winning shot at the end of regulation. Probably not in the cards this year but the friars should have a tournament team next year if English can keep the young guys from transferring.

During Dan's post game media access. And he was careful in his response to a reporter's question about the T- Because of BE oversight of his comments in press conferences(Val)- Said that he was having a discussion with one of the refs as they were headed to the tunnel. A ref he said he generally has excellent communication with- and a second ref joined the conversation after they were having a back and forth- And he was the guy to assess the T.

Wasn't there-Don't know what was said-Saw the replay of the interaction- From my perspective and IMO- he was working his way to the locker room-Took advantage of proximity to the refs as they were exiting to voice his concern about the lack of balance in fouls being called. I do not think he was trying to get a T. And you are correct- It appeared that the second half whistle was more fairly balanced.

Not sure he would want to risk adding to the deficit starting the second half with 2 FTs and possession- by getting a T- But it worked out ok. I'll take the W

Best thing about AK post-game is it's his last game on that floor. No chance for the peecee fans to get another run at him.

This. We were actually going offense-defense for a little bit if possessions changed on dead balls. Then Stewart hit a 3, so he stayed with him on offense too.

they're a lot better than 8-7, ans I suspect they'll show it the rest of the way.

Not unlike that Michigan win at Penn St. Sometimes when you're winning comfortably often, barely trying (Marquette), you need a game like that to heighten the senses. I like what a game like that does for this team. It also helped to define this team in terms of who Hurley trusts when the going gets tough.

Reed is a tank for sure. Don't know if anyone in the college game can outmuscle him down low. Why it was such a huge loss not to have him against Arizona and their towering front line.

Any given night someone different will step up to lead this team. Solo struggled on D and Jaylin stepped up. Team needed a leader and Silas showed he was more than ready. Need a big shot and Alex or Braylon will get it for you. Hurley's T helped Tarris in second half. Watching at home and hearing the U C O N N chant in OT was awesome, the Friars crowd did not have the energy to drown it out with boos, they tried the first time and said whatever the second time.

I missed Ross entering game somehow, did he give it a go and couldn't or was it just Jaylin's night?

Hopefully this doesn't break the Friars because they looked so much better than they did vs St. John's and that was a win. Seems like it took them a bit this season to figure out how the pieces went. Heck of a game!
